Despite all the buzz around Tudor's new releases -- the Pro and Ranger -- this Omega really grabs me by the lapels and shakes me around, especially the Saffron and the Terracotta.
Your vids are brilliant. Good pace, no BS, very informative. We're so lucky to have an Omega OB in Vancouver...and Jorge is a great asset to the watch community.
My only gripe with these new models is that the date window looks like a simple cut-out. Got the previous caliber 8900, 41mm version myself, and feel like they did a better job with the date window on those models.
I spent time with the sandstone dial in my AD. It’s an experience I can’t put into words. IMO the sandstone is the most elegant as it pairs well with a brown or black alligator strap.
My father purchased the blue "teak" dial 38mm earlier this year. He preferred the slightly dressier vs. sport sizing of the 38 over the 41, even though his wrist is a little bigger than my 7.25" (18.4cm) wrist - I don't know is exact size. I could go with either, but thought the 38 was great. I might feel differently if I had a 7-1/2" wrist though. 38 is about as small as I prefer to go, so this 38.5 is fine with this type of watch. My one complaint (same complaint about the Railmaster, which I otherwise love) is the butterfly clasp as well, due to no micro adjustments. Omega has added a quick adjust bracelet to some Speedy models, and not just Seamasters. I think they can come up with one for this line that is a bit slimmer. I love the terra cotta choice the most for this new release, and hopefully these will come out in the 41mm size at some point.
They are yet to reach stores though, I went for a viewing in September and they should have arrived for November, then got pushed to December, now they are not sure when they will arrive. I'm waiting for the red, and I'm told that is the most popular. I think these got announced in March 2022, so we are approaching nearly a year, so hopefully they will have them in store soon.
Love this AT more than the previous, especially in Terracotta. Dont mind the date window its fine, but dammit Omega with the lacking micro adjustments at this price level. if you are going from land to sea etc then your wrist will expand alot so it really blows that they dont seem to care there.
I have an older model, but these watches are great…classic design, and now with some cool colors. I’ve paired mine with a Seamaster and a Speedmaster for the perfect 3 watch collections. Oh, and a beater G-shock. Life is good. Thanks for the video.
I feel the same way that you do regarding Butterfly clasps. I do like a watch with micro adjust. My Omega Seamaster 300 has a sliding clasp and it is brilliant. I tried the red dial on at an AD and it is a beautiful watch, unfortunately it isn’t going to released until November and they weren’t taking deposits. The watch, for some reason, only fitted a 17cm wrist and I am a 19 cm wrist so the AD visit wasn’t entirely successful but I will be buying the watch even if I have to buy a custom strap to wear it.
The president bracelet looks better than the flat link bracelet. Too bad it's 19mm. Maybe I'll order the 19mm bracelet and used my 20mm end links. Hopefully the gap between the links fit.
I just got the Atlantic Blue dial! Absolutely stunning dial. Wears like a dream on my 7.5inch wrist. The size looks good not too small at all. Much more lighter and comfortable then my 41mm Submariner Date. Only wish it had some micro adjustment although there are many Omega straps for it including a mesh bracelet which I may consider later on.
Went to an Omega boutique the other day and this was the stand out watch. I tried everything, and this was the one that kept pulling me back. I kept coming back to that bracelet, how comfortable it was. It didn’t feel too small on my wrist (same size as yours). I would share this with my girlfriend. …now to convince her.
@@bryanbeckett869 Thanks Bryan. After owning this piece for some time now the only gripe I have is the lack of micro adjustment. It's been causing me grief on days where my wrist swells up. I've tried to put an extra link in but then it's way too loose. The thing with the Submariner is that it has the glide lock clasp wit micro adjustments. Except it's heavier and bulkier. Can't seem to win here! At least a DateJust has a 5mm quick release in the clasp. But then again the Rolex president bracelet has no micro adjustment either.
@@MikoTheTomCat that is the one thing i was concerned about. I wear my PRX nice and loose which also has no micro adjust, but I feel I’d want the Omega to fit well. I think in a lot of ways it is a dealbreaker. If it had the same clasp as the standard Seamaster it’d be perfect.
The size and lug width is perfect. Glad Omega made this. I just reserved one and arrived today, but got no money to pay due to other hobbies, I have to let it go and it hurts.
Green or Blue for me. I have been on the hunt for my "do it all" watch for a while. I have tried on the white 38mm, but never been sure about the deck pattern on the dial as it seems fussy. I have tried on OP's too with the 41mm being too large and 36 possibly too small. I will wait until I can try one of these on at the local AD but the Blue or Green could be for me. I prefer these dial colours to Rolex coloured offerings which I feel are a bit less mature / subtle.
My Ad two years ago took my deposit for the Terracotta dial..and, I waited and waited and waited..then about a year ago the Omega website says they are now available to order, but my Ad says this is not so…so I waited for another year..and finally in June of 24 it shipped and I notice Omega brings out a steel and gold version for double the price and,…. the all steel version got a $400 increase…man,..are they trying to be the new Rolex?
I recently bought a ‘18 black teak dial. Will they eventually make these colours in the teak dial, or only sunburst? I’d think a teak terracotta or bay green would be beautiful.
- Omega: let's put together the toughest competitor the Oyster Perpetual has ever seen. - Omega: But let's just leave 1 detail to mess it all up. How about we screw up the date window? - Omega: Yes.
Beautiful piece, even though I prefer the movement in mine Aquaterra, the 8900 caliber, because it has the "jumping hour" feature that I love. Anyway I like the dimensions and the colors, especially Saffron and Terracotta.
Not quite the best video Oleg as we do not get a reaction from Mr Bond. Dial colour wise from the images the terracotta would get my vote. The dial could certainly benefit from a sliced applied and lumed marker at six below the date window. The date position as you mention looks a tad out of place leaving a lost unbalanced space below it. I've not seen one in person yet so I'll with hold further judgement.
This watch is awesome, I just wish it were under $5k. Side note, when did the AT get thinner at 12.3mm? Did they update the movement? I remember these being something like 13.5mm thick
Why is everyone saying that the Aqua Terra is competing with die Rolex OP? Aqua Terra has a date. How can you compare two watches with different complications just by the looks? Just compare it with the datejust
Link only sizing is a dodgy proposition. Unfortunately you won't know how it will fit till you buy it. For the money it should have a better fitment option and I'd like to see more contrast on the case. Too much polished surface for me. But, a very pretty little watch
Only thing keeps disturbing me when I look at this watch is the positioning of the date window and how low quality the window was cut out. Just keeps biting my eyes..And why is it white?? Date window sucks :))
If you get a chance to ask or find out can you see if the case dimensions are the same as the other 38 AT in the current lineup? I'd love to put the new bracelet on my black dial 38 but don't want to order one if obviously it won't fit my AT.
