The 86 twins hate that compression zone in turn 13 - super sketchy feeling when you're pushing it. I remember driving one and it feeling like the car has a mind of it's own in those big compression zones. It's like trying to pull the wheel out of your hands. Sucks that's an issue with the new chassis's too. So cool it's so quick out of the box! RE71RS FTW...
I sort of equate to a FWD car having lift-off oversteer. It's gonna happen, but if you don't know that, it's alarming. Once you accept it as "Just how it is," you start to ignore it mentally.
Ah yes, those little conspiracy theories that run through your head right after a bunch of changes or new build are your worst enemy. Very cool! im on the fence on getting a brz, want one but "DONT BUILD ANOTHER TRACK CAR" is my damn cross to bear. Regarding the rear of the car, why not test the car without the rear sway bar? thats what we did on the E36's.... stiff rear spring, bar delete and the cars rotated with such perfection. Give it a whirl.
Hahah. Yeah interesting idea, the Eibach kit comes with adjustable front and rear bars that I want to play with, I think that's gonna come before coilovers with easily adjustable spring rates. Probably something I'll end up revisiting when I can play with spring rates, too. But that's the point, I gotta learn!
Tom, only psychopaths like working on cars. I think forcing yourself to work on this car is a great learning experience though and can only make you more rounded. Keep at it.
Not in my experience with the street and track driving I’ve done so far. A bit of very mild squealing here and there on the street when they’re warming up.
