One interesting thing that I'm surprised no one has mentioned is each member represents a phobia/nightmare. JiU: Fear of being chased SuA: Fear of restraint Siyeon: Fear of confined spaces/being trapped Handong: Fear of being watched Yoohyeon: Fear of being lost Dami: Fear of being in pain/suffering Gahyeon: Fear of falling/not being able to stand These phobias are showcased by the members throughout the nightmare series as you will see. As you saw in this video, Gahyeon endlessly falling when he turned to her page in the book and SuA being restrained by the hands in the forest when he turned to her specific page. All the eyes that appeared in the room watching him were Handong's eyes as she has the fear of being watched. Details like this are what made me fall in love with Dreamcatcher. The intricacies in their storytelling is truly top tier. I look forward to more Dreamcatcher reactions from you :)

The CEO of (at the time) Happyface was a big fan of jrock and visual kei, so there's a lot of inspiration drawn from those groups for Chase Me and Good Night.

The cloak they wear in the end of MV become the merchandise after years which is dream come true.

Fly High and You and I it's gonna blow your mind bc they are way easier to "understand" but at the same time is sooo creepy and essentially a horror movie at itself

Good Night is sooo good. Probably my second favourite in the Nightmare series. Which means you still have my criminally underrated number 1 to look forward to! I think you'll be pleased to hear that Dreamcatcher have done actual anime openings, in Japanese :) Eclipse is one that comes to mind. Is Post Human: Survival Horror the BMTH EP you're thinking of? Dude, I would go INSANE over a DC-BMTH collab. Or a DC-Babymetal collab. Or maybe even a three way? In terms of the lore, I think you figured this out yourself but the book is really fucking important here. Some time in the past the DC girls were cursed to become nightmares. So they're not really alive anymore. And there is one more layer to this curse. When they were still alive, they were witches who could perform rituals and spells on people if they had their original photographs. A bit like a voodoo doll. But now that they don't exist in the mortal realm anymore, the same applies to them. If someone obtains an original photo of them, they can perform the same rituals on DC. This original photo is what the ghost hunter found at the end of Chase Me. Now that he has the photo, the DC girls are completely trapped in the nightmare realm, only able to interact with the real world through mirrors. They need the book to break free. The book contains all of the nightmares that the girls represent. As the ghost hunter is flipping through the pages, the girls start to experience those nightmares themselves. Gahyeon falling endlessly, Sua being restrained by the trees, unable to move, etc. But they're able to perform a sort of spell that lets them get the book through a mirror. As they burn the pages of the nightmares, the girls are also freed from them. And since the book grants them almost unlimited power, they make sure the ghost hunter knows by just obliterating the room he's in and eventually switching places. Now he's trapped in the nightmare, mirrors being his only link to the outside, and Dreamcatcher are finally free again in the real world. As they walk through the woods, Yoohyeon drops the book. On accident or maybe on purpose as you suggested? We'll find out in a different video! Fly High is next! The prequel that explores how Dreamcatcher even became nightmares in the first place.

As an OG Deukae stan, who's been following these girls ever since their Minx days, it's so great to me seeing them finally getting the recognition and love they deserve! The nightmare series will forever hold a very special place in my heart and Good night is one of my favorite title tracks of theirs that I've fallen in love with ever since it was first released. It's crazy how far our girls have come ever since that time and how much their music has changed and developed, all the while still maintaining what is these days known as their own unique sound. You suddenly starting to quote a line of one of my favorite non-kpop groups of all time, Blondie's, songs, One way or another was so relatable too. 🤭 Looking forward to continuing to follow your Dreamcatcher journey. I promise, you're absolutely in for one hell of a treat, this is quite literally only the beginning, but you've most likely already figured that yourself. 😉

Really good catch on what the spell book is showing. Each image in it is a depiction of the type of nightmare the specific girl is forced to become and eternally live in.

The guy is us, somnias, we are trapped in the dreamworld, willingly bewitched by these young women. The nightmare series is so well crafted, and the following series too. I love these girls and the (DC) universe around them, so unique. They show us the world as it is : harsh, painful but also with wonders and beauty.

I love it that you implemented the meaning of the previous one in the series to the message this one tries to convey, and it definitely is a meaning many insomnia give to this mv (including me). In the whole nightmare series, the mv-story continues but besides that also the message behind the lyrics is connected. As probably mentioned by many there isn't really an "official storyline" to the mv-story. Of course there is a main direction the story goes (which to my knowledge you got right) but many details are free for interpretation. As always I liked your interpretations and your reaction, already looking forward to the next one ("fly high")!

Funny things I found Dreamcatcher when searching on RU-vid "K-Pop Songs that fit for Anime Opening" 😂😂

Yeah, Dreamcatcher stuff has been compared to anime openings. Also, I don't know if you caught it, but the music at the very start of this song also played at the end of the Chase Me MV (the part that sounds like a music box before the guitar kicks in). I know that it has already been mentioned about needing to check out the dance to this, but oh man, was the opening choreography that they do during that opening great. Shame it isn't in the MV. The book contains their various nightmares. Gahyeon would be the falling one since that is her nightmare. You will get their origin story next time. I miss rapping SuA. Again, another one of the nightmares is on showcase, as SuA's nightmare is being restrained. Then they recover the book and burn their nightmares away, so you see the hands that were grabbing SuA are now in flames.

Also, about the "speaking to the audience" thing, it's very interesting if you read the lyrics thinking that it's a love song. Like, it could pass as a song about a relationship, like many of the "other groups" songs are. But in the dreamcatcher context, you see that there's way more to it

you're analize is accurate but it's not really that . what you know so far 1 the girls are witche's and represent nightmare 2 they chase the detective , hunter call him like you want 3 the spell book and the picture of them are 2 important item in the nightmare story line . but you didn't really know who's the good guy and the bad guy so far . but of course at this point of the story everybody will think than the girls are the evil. and you didn't know why he chase them . and why they want to afraid him.

DG i'am very curious to know you're âge because you got the same reference and passion than me (rock, kpop, anime , freddy kruger etc...) i know almost all you're reference and it's so funny . and i'am into my 30 so i don't think than you're that old .
