Hey boos! I’m back on the tube. Missed you guys 🤎 I took some much needed time off. Also I’m testing out editors for videos so today’s intro is a little special.
EDIT: Captions are now available on the video. I believe that sometimes there is a delay with captions when a video is first posted. Thank you for everyone who commented to help my comment be seen (and those who let me know to recheck the video). Nyma can you look into captions? I’m hard of hearing and it would help me, but for the Deaf community it’s absolutely critical for them to be able to access your content. Please and thank you. No shade, just a request.
100% agree. I'm not sure if you've seen but RU-vid recently reversed the possibility of community provided captions, which means that people can't do captions for the videos on a volunteer basis anymore, and their excuse was they're working on making the autogenerated captions better but I think for some creators they're still not able to add them or something, like there's been a really bad roll out of caption improvements so basically they've taken away the only option that meant the community could help add captions and they've not done much to update the really bad and delayed auto captions 😑 so annoying. Love your hair by the way!
Do the auto captions not show for you? I'm deaf in one side, they're usually okay for me (though I know they might not be for others?), they just don't come on as soon as the video is uploaded you just have to wait a little.
No cause as she said, they can still improve. She doesn't need to stop her constructive criticism cause that's what makes Fenty to want to drive for better products
Definitely could see the difference between the powder foundation and the liquid foundation. I’m sure Fenty will appreciate the feedback. Better to have people know which shades will work than to have them need to return it and get upset that the claims aren’t true.
"constructive criticism" and honest reviews are your trade marks Nyma. that's what we love about your videos. keep them coming, unless "she pays your bills" of course lol XD
I actually really love how just the powder looks! It looks so beautiful! Even though it doesn't match your face I like how it looks with your chest color
@@maddiedoesntkno I didn't notice, but I've seen that with other brands too. I think it would be so hard for her to find foundation that matched both her face and chest with how different they look.
Fenty stan energy is ridiculous, Fenty isn't perfect and there's always room for improvement, like stop it. They're also not the only cosmetic brand with products for darker complexions or the first to do it
Also fenty is one of the few brands that will listen to people's feedback WITHOUT it becoming a huge controversy first. I honestly respect them so much.
It’s so difficult finding the “perfect shade” being a dark skin woman with your face and neck being significantly darker. It’s like you try to match you chest and you instantly feel like you are too light so you resort to matching your face. We be working out here trying to figure out a happy medium! Lol but Either way I think it was beautiful before and after.
@@Heyitskadayy match with your chest it looks better I used to to that until I brightened my face to match my neck oh but match your foundation to your face but your concelear to your chest if that makes sense so that you don’t end up looking ashy and casket ready
I'm light-medium skinned but with a way darker face (my forehead is about 10 shades darker than my chest) and I rather match to my chest than to my forehead. Once I went to get my makeup done and they matched to my face, and I ended up looking ridiculous as my face and neck was orange and my chest and arms were pale.
Hey boo. The hair is beyond gorgeous and even though the shade you demoed did not match your liquid foundation shade, it was still stunning on you. Never stop telling your truth. Continue to be sincere and honest with your brand.
Sis, when you put the 498 powder on with just primer.... you looked fabulous! A perf no-makeup look. I also absolutely loved the final look. Best look I've seen on you in a while. 💗
Wow I really wish you had used the powder foundation only because it already matches your chest, and used the lighter to highlight then the liquid foundation just to contour. 😭
Same...the powder on its own creates an amazing base that color wise looks stunning. No color correction needed either. Like seriously she could have used the powder base and contoured and been done. Done done honey. These gurus could honestly reel it back a bit with using all these products that don’t necessarily go well with one another.
actually naturally your face should be darker than your neck and chest because your face catches most UV all year round. So it makes sense she prefers a darker shade, because it looks more natural. However I agree, if you are going to demo a foundation, not using it as what it's meant for defeats the purpose.
I think powder foundation suits Nyma so much more. Shes naturally glowy so sometimes with the cream she can look a little greasy. I was living for her with the powder so much. Dream skin!!
The more she was doing her makeup I was thinking “she looks like someone” & then I got it, she was looking like Gabrielle Union!!!! Well reminded me of her.
I LOVED the editing in this! It’s so cool, and like,, fresh lol, but also pretty funny as well, which beauty RU-vid can sometimes lack ): I’m really excited to see more of this editing style!! ((:
i love nyma so much, shes literally one of the only beauty gurus left still making videos about makeup without clickbait and stupid challenges and drama and all that stuff
I come here for your skin. Your skin is like art. I can’t stop looking at it. I actually love what the powder foundation did for you through the camera lenses. It was like you’d concealed and contoured and set in one go!
I agree these Fenty stans are embarrassing but there is always a few rotten eggs in every fandom. Fenty has done amazing things for the makeup world, but that doesn’t ever give Fenty pass for constructive criticism. Content creators shouldn’t be scared to say something about a brand especially if they have a good reason.
Especially when these brands make these products in exchange with OUR MONEY. I'd much prefer someone who critiques a brand honestly hen someone who just cape for anything a brand puts out cuz if I wasn't smart with my money, I'd lose it big time buying something that falls short because some influencer raved about it.
@@Claire-td1ng Why wouldn't there be? Fans exist everywhere. If there are fans of a studio, a publishing house, there can be one for a cosmetic company.
I love watching your videos. It just seems like you have done so much research and you know exactly what makeup works for you at all times. Its perfection!
Ok woah- the other shades are deeper than what's in the pan... I really thought 495 would be deeper as well. I'm going to buy this and I have to go a shade lighter. So glad you're voicing your opinion, because, it's the truth. 🤷🏾♀️
It's crazy to me how dark the shades look in the pictures vs how they actually look when she holds them. That's why a diverse range of models is fundamental!
It's cool to watch people do what they love! 💜 she's a lovely mix of calming but also fun, excited, and knowledgeable about what she's doing. I love these videos!
I had such an emotionally well-thought out comment to write celebrating her beautiful black skin and deleted it all for fear of being taken wrong (this day & age you can’t say ANYTHING! Lol) but sis.. just know you are BEAUTIFUL ! And black queens everywhere, light, dark & in between are celebrating you and rooting for you 💖 continue to represent!!!! 💪🏿😍💪🏿
I know you’re saying the powder isn’t deep enough, but it honestly looks much better as a foundation match for you than the liquid. Imo you should have stopped w the powder only as a foundation.
she mentioned that recently she has been matching her foundation to her face rather than her neck and chest then balancing with concealer, maybe it’s easier, then she can also use a better concealer match
To be fair, she matches her foundation to her face, and then highlight it with concealer so it blend in with her chest and neck too. The powder is good enough match for her, but it would look wonky if she highlight and contour. And the biggest issue, is the fact that there might be people that dont have discoloration issue like nyma out there, that wanted that particular liquid foundation shade on powder form, but getting a lighter shade instead. And what we see as good may not look as good with natural lighting and real life. She might look good enough, but theres a chance that the powder looks really off irl.
Good on you for taking some time out to relax. Very relaxing watching you put make up on. The blue bow is so pretty! That lip gloss looks gorgeous as does the rest of your make up.
Nyma you have the cutest, bubbly energy ever. I'm not even dark skin but I watch your content not only because it has helped me learn a lot about darker skin colors and how they work, but because your personality is so lovely.
It’s my first time watching a video from this channel and.... THE SKIN TONE of this woman is SOOO beautiful I was just mesmerized by it for the whole vid 😭😭😭👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
watching your videos is really comforting because you remind me a lot of my aunt personality wise and you have the same nose and eye shape and i haven't seen her in over a year because of the pandemic
Bling bling- I knnnooooww you see it 😜welcome back, we missed you Sis! makeup is flawless per usual, you're beautiful! Thanks for the fenty review, I too have super dry skin so I know the vibes
GIRL YOU LOOK STUNNING AS USUAL 💗 Ugh I’m so obsessed with your skinnnn, she forever glowing 😍 & that royal blue looks SOOOOO good on you. I can’t get enough
Imagine being a complete sham while watching perfection for 22 minutes and 45 seconds straight 🥲dis why I can’t be consistent with your videos, too pretty, too perfect 😩❤️❤️❤️
Maybe it’s just me, but I thought your skin looked amazing after the foundation.. and doesn’t really need the highlight and contour which for me throws off the color a little
Nyma you are honestly so sweet about these products that literally don’t work for your shade. Personally I get Angry but you are so lovely about it. I have so much respect for what you do!! ❤️❤️❤️
Taylor Barry, I second that emotion, nobody is obligated to any makeup company, if you got sick today will they visit you? Will they pay your doctor bill for you? do they pay the house note or your rent? Will they wipe your butt for you if you can’t wipe it yourself? do they stand and fight for you? so I totally agree, what’s wrong with people they get so worked up over these make up companies and you don’t know these people on those TV 📺 show so hell to the No . 👩🏾🦲🥰😍 just saying
But nyma nvr said she didnt like fenty as a brand shes doing a review on one specific product she likes fenty overall. But lets say theoretically she didnt like them its her right ppl need to stop some of things are preference. We like what we like.
@@to.lame.to.function5242 I don't believe I asked Nyma to concur with my opinion. It was an observation. You do realize this is a comment section, yes? Okay, now run along and take your hostility elsewhere.
Since it is a powder foundation and you apply liquid on top, it will become either cakey or patchy, That's why we usually use our powders after liquid. and the powder foundation won't show through if you put a darker color of foundation on top, as a professional mua I recommend if you do like more of the shade from the foundation use the liquid in the perimeters of the face and then apply the powder foundation in the T zone to match your overall complexion since the powder does match your neck but not your face this way you'll get the best results of a seamless base and you won't have to do as much work. Hope this explanation helped and you try it out !
Wait I'm confused. Why would she add liquid foundation on top of it if the first foundation matched her neck perfectly. Isn't that point? I feel adding the darker one and then playing with concealer and stuff is waaay too much product on the face. Idk correct me if I'm wrong. My ignorant ass doesn't know that much about darker skin
Although the powder foundation did match her chest, she stated she prefers to match the foundation to her face shade. She applied the powder one first to show people what it looks like on her face alone and the fact that it isn't exactly the same as the liquid version.
I have been watching you for years on and off when you come up on my recommendations but I finally subscribed after this video and idk why I didn’t sooner but your just so real and cool and I appreciate it so much and I’m such a fan
So so so pretty! You know how to wear makeup. And honestly the shade looked good when you put it on without the other. Very natural! Anyway it looked amazing!
