Wow! It's amazing how far above and beyond you go for your guests. AirBnB can be such a gamble, but you take the role of host very seriously, and I think that makes all the difference for people who are traveling. So thoughtful to even include cake and breakfast!
I have stayed in over 30 airbnb homes over the past few years, across Europe (Rome, Milan, Paris, Istanbul, Hamburg, Stuttgart, Berlin, Amsterdam), UK (London), Asia (Seoul, Kyoto, Tokyo, Taipee, Kuala Lumpar), US (New York, LA, San Francisco, San Diego, Florida, Missouri) and South America (Sao Paulo, Buenos Aires). I have NEVER before encountered such a hospitable, thoughtful and well prepared Airbnb. Congratulations to you both. Whoever stays at your Airbnb is certainly most fortunate!
I’m so overjoyed for you two! What an awesome young couple with a vision! Strawtop 2 looks delightful and I can’t wait to see all the finishing touches. How special is it that Charlie routinely visits to change flowers and add beautiful new details. You two are a dream and more!❤ your work ethic is appreciated.
Josie and Charlie, when I look at Strawtop 1 and 2 cottages they are truly and very well presented. Love how you make people feel welcome with a little personal touch here and there for when they arrive. I follow you both at your beautiful home as well and it’s a privilege and a joy to see. May you always continue to do so and give so much pleasure to us all. xx
Hi I owned the cottage next door I called it Tom Pudding cottage I lived there for 7 years loved the cottages I had a small business sewing it was lovely life there Congratulations to your new straw top B
@@kippykippyphoebe9203it's been literally four hours, only two before you replied. Maybe give her a chance to reply before you comment, you don't know what her day looks like.
Oh my goodness!! All of the thoughtful and lovely amenities you and Charlie include in your Airbnb is SO SPECIAL! I have never stayed in an Airbnb that makes it such a special, luxurious experience from the unique yummy food items & drinks to the Dyson hair dryer & sleep spray etc. What a dream!! ♥️
Since I am 1st generation Italian, my heart flutters when you leave the courgettes flowers behind. We typically make a batter with garlic, pecorino cheese, and parsley with salt and pepper. They get picked in the early morning while the flowers are open and you can choose to stuff them with prosciutto and mozzarella if you chose and fry them up. Some use it with pasta as is. Delicious either way..
White makes objects appear Larger and jump at you because the surrounding paint is a contrast colour. Aubergine will be less in-your-face but will highlight a design element both Charlie and Josie dislike (the stairs!). The winner is Charlie’s second suggestion: ‘paint out’ the stairs by matching them to the wall colour! Problem solved. The same solution works when you want to disguise ugly wall or floor boards, or make ceilings appear higher. Paint out all the detail in the same wall colour, rather than highlight the mess with contrasting trim, especially white.
I love how authentically you share Josie. ❤ When you share tips I genuinely appreciate them and laugh when you admit “I’m no angel 😇” because it shows realness. We all have habits we try to integrate into our routines but let’s be honest - not everyday is a perfect reflection of our ideals. Lovely vlog, as always ❤
Been following you for years. So excited for all your success. Thanks for always making a point to stay humble and express your gratitude for everything. God bless❤
So excited for Strawtop 2!! Charlie is so talented and thoughtful in his choices for guests stay. What a dream to be able to stay there. Looking forward to seeing the progress ❤
You are such a lovely host...we rented a lovely airbnb when we went to Hamburg but they should learn from you....all the details that make you feel that you are wanted and welcomed were missing! Your guests are so lucky and if we ever come those parts we definitely will rent your lovely cottage !
You are so lucky having your mum live on your homestead as it is a problem with pets and garden and house plants when you go away and it takes all the angst out of it and of course security. She is a gem. She can look after the garden, water and take dogs out and receive parcels etc. Amazing.
Josie you always have such a radiating energy and happiness to you but felt the energy in this vlog especially glowing extra happiness throughout this vlog!!🩷
Your plantings outside your cottages are lovely. Clearly you and Charlie take great pride in your properties and have great joy in the luxury amenities and special touches you provide your guests . Well done. Wishing you both the best.
On staying in the smaller bedroom, I think sometimes people don't want to climb more stairs while on holiday and the bathroom is on the same level. The stairs should be one colour, which ever colour wins.
Beautiful idea, the 2 cottages, Charlie you are such a great organizer ! The stairs in white would be nice i think, in my opinion. Congratulations to both of you for all the efforts you put for a nice a cosy welcoming to your guests, ♥
Oh Josie you are just so lovely 🥺 I adored your little things throughout this vlog, like the little run to the door or the happiness on your face when you got the message about the Sunday roast. ☺️
Congrats on No. 2! You should always keep stairs light in colour and well-lit (especially in cottages as they tend to be dark little hobbit holes). Stairs need to be easy to see. My mum has macular degeneration, which has made me think more about people with poor eyesight when decorating an Air BnB in which guests will be staying. Health and safety are a must for a business owner. Although I love burgundy...just maybe not in an Air BnB. 😊
I totally agree with colour and depth perception (coming from someone who has been in patient safety and risk) . It’s amazing the number of critical incidents from falls that happened in the home. 😥❤️🇨🇦
Suggestion...call it the Breakfast Nook. My grandmother had one when I was a kid in the 60s. It was a little seating area off the kitchen over looking her quaint tree lined street in Detroit. Grandma Anna was originally from Britain. Thanks for all the quality content from the both of you. Very inspiring! Blessings! - Dianne
I love that you are doing so much lifestyle videos. And I really enjoy Charlie being in them more and travelling with you. So excited to watch the progress of strawtop cottage 2 💐💕
Love your new little Cottage! Great it is right next to your other one! I would paint the rails a green because white is so bold! Only my opinion! So happy for you both! ❤🏡
I agree with Charlie about the stairs. It would look much brighter and lighter in a white or cream shade. I think aubergine would darken the lounge too much. I love your renovations and idea's. Very inspiring.
Congrats on the new cottage. Excellent video. You and Charlie are both great young people and very blessed. I know you are working very hard to pay more attention to your health and eating habits. Make sure you do all of this with a Doctor’s approval. It is possible to have underlying medical conditions that you are unaware of. Take care.
So exciting to see the planning stage of Strawtop 2. I have to choose Charlie's option of the stairs Josie. Happy for you both. Thank you fir all you share with us.
Such a lovely day spent with you… Congratulations on being entrepreneurs with your second straw top cottage! Such lovely touches! You are absolutely glowing and gorgeous! 💎🦋
£400 a night is expensive for me too but the effort you and Charlie put in to make it luxurious for your guests is worth every penny - would love, love, love to stay there - maybe some day
Josie how magical is everything that you and Charlie set out to do!!!!!! Strawtop 1 & 2 is absolutely the most charming and well done air bnb ever!!!! You guys have thought and done so much more than any other air bnb owners that I know or have heard of!!!! Can I put my thoughts on the stairs??? I actually love the warmth of the wood and I think painting the stairs the same as the wall color and leaving the wood would look amazing!!! Would keep the flow and not make the room look chopped up or different~ it will keep that cozy charming feel!! I know whatever you do will be perfection!!! Thank you for all you guys do and share with us!! ❤️
Josie you and Charlie both have a great eye for design ,but am gonna go with Charlie on this one,the less noticeable the better, white or the wall color would do the trick .. love you both❤❤
Happy Birthday to Charlie 🎉🥂🎂. Strawtop 2 is beautiful Josie, credit due to you both you just think of everything to make a stay wonderful and can’t wait to see No 2 finished. I do hope we may be able to stay sometime 👏🙌❤️❤️❤️
Straw top two is going to be beautiful. Re stairs I think a subtle colour to blend with the walls as much as possible- painting them white will make them stand out and will also make them look even more modern - try to blend them in to the overall decor colour would be the best option I feel and look very stylish. Great job though you both have exquisite taste. ❤❤
Josie you are the best !!! Charlie your attention to detail is remarkable!!!! Love all the personal touches my mouth was watering and I could imagine waking up I'm your cosy cottage with the smell of bacon and nespresso....what a vibe❤ proud of your hard work ...achieving another cottage...brilliant
Charlie and Josie have you thought about a gate in the adjoining wall in the courtyard that could be unlocked if both cottages are rented by the same party, I think that would be very welcome by 2 groups of friends .Just a thought .Well done they are gorgeous x
Congratulations on Strawtop II! I can't wait to see what you do with that outdoor space, it's going to be magical, I'm sure. About those particular stairs ... probably best to make them the same color as the wall so that they blend in, less imposing on the overall (lovely!) aesthetic.
Such a good investment! Having both cottage’s together. Family events. Excellent location and London an hour away what’s not to live as you say! Epic. Xxx
I bought a lovely antique maple, drop-sided (on both sides), round table for my tiny cottage, Charlie. It works wonderfully for two or four people. Agree with Charlie, about the stairs.
How exciting! Such a sweet cottage ✨ for the stairs, not sure how it would look but maybe they could be clad in the nice reclaimed wood? Soho farmhouse style x
Omg this is so exciting project again! I love every part of ur English brands and rustic hunts since your Cotswolds moving journey began 🤩😅 Charlie really is becoming an Englishman Classic ID in the making 👌 super exciting
Could you put in a connecting door/gate through the courtyard brick wall? To be kept padlocked unless both cottages have been rented for the same purpose, friends/family etc. just as a more convenient and family friendly/safe way of accessing ❤
You two are lovely! Love taking tips from your hospitality. My daughter requests to visit Strawtop I for her 10th birthday next summer. We’ll see what we can do 🤩🎉
🤍 Can’t wait to see the progress of Strawtop Cottage 2. Love the extras you provide for your guests. Such good hosts. Charlie is indeed a ‘Super’ Host!
Yes I guess it must be your goal to achieve Super Host status I'm surprised you haven't already maybe you need a certain number of bookings, £400 a night is 5 star hotel prices!!
Hi Josie, Just a small suggestion and I hope you don't mind it. Do add local drinks and refreshments in the mini fridge but try to avoid perishable food, butter, eggs milk etc. most people might taste it or use a small portion, they might prefer going in the village and have a local dining experience, instead of cooking. Definitely, they wont take some bacon with them after they leave the property; it might be a waist of food in the long run. Congratulations on your second cottage!!! Amazing!!
I was brought up in my teenage years 28mins from Eastleach and as a teenager found it a bit boring and caught the bus to Swindon to have some nightlife at The Brunel Rooms where I danced my socks off but it was always a trek to get from our villages to a large town. One got on at Faringdon where we went to Grammar School and then me and then Shrivenham for another and a dad or boyfriend brought us home. Brunel Rooms was Tuesday night so tired for school next day but loved it. Village life was boys being petty and going over fields during the summer hols to find mushrooms and climb gates and trees.
I feel like the smaller room in ST1 is just cosier than the upstairs one and I'd choose that one too. I always feel like the upstairs room could do with some patterned wallpaper and a much bigger rug to warm it up. (But it's all still very, very lovely and you should be so proud!)
Stairs blending with the walls really would make them less obvious. The other thing is how lovely to have the garden furniture as well. Will look absolutely fabulous once done. Cannot imagine it looking anything other than tasteful from you two. Love from Australia
Re light bulb doing Charlie's head in you can add pretty floral little shades? Bedroomy and great over a bed. Toilet is grim and that is what happens when you move in and the vision is in sight. Charlie has worked hard on it by the looks.
Such smart investments these two are working on. I will watch these two for the long haul because these life vlogs are catered for longevity. So many to look forward to. Like I can see them vlogging til they are in there 80's.
Actually far more affordable than similar cottages nearby considering everything that’s included! Other places of this quality are £500 a night or more and I guarantee they don’t come with free bottles of rosé and all the lovely extras that we provide!
@@JosieIrons my son has a Studio on Airnb too !!! In a lovely Place in Cannes !!! Its like a Hotel Room but you find all comfort like at Home !!! And in middle of a Nice Park with a Pool !!! Hé also take care to offert coffe Tea Butter confiture water milk chips and chocolaté and Rose wine for his guest 😊 Will try one day to come to your lovely Place 💛❤
@@JosieIronswith the thoughtfulness you both include, it deserves to be even more expensive! Thank you to you and Charlie for being such wonderful hosts. I’ll make this my wishlist stay.
I am so glad the two of you got hold of the new/old cottage as it needed taking back to age. You are doing it perfectly and it is easy to buy the wrong bit of furniture but I am sure you can use it somewhere as you are not short of houses. You can always sell it. That is the beauty of old furniture it stands the test of time and will always be wanted. My mother loved her gateleg table (her prize possession) but unfortunately my greedy sister locked me out of her house when my mother died and sold all her furniture/possessions without me. Consequently due to that and more and even more serious issues surrounding my mother's health I no longer talk to my sister. I abhor greed and think health is more important than money - mental and physical.
I love that you two have the vision for your "cottage business." 👏🏻The opportunity came and you took it to buy Cottage#2!!!🎉I adore all the attention to details you both share.❤
Hi Josie and Charlie Yes green and aubergine in a different set of circumstances, but agree green for your cottage as small and other features stand out that are meant to,
Now I see how the kitchen was and mine was built in when I came and it is cream and not as offensive as fake wood but I kept it for costs reasons and have added galvanised iron accessories, wooden sage painted plate rack and the fridge freezer is not built in and it works as it overlooks the garden and I love it and easy to work in.
Congratulations !!! I hope one day I can Visit there!!! Im going with blending the stairs with the wall color. However I’m sure whatever you decide will be beautiful!!!
