Yeah the blue must stay! Maybe someone could paint on a rustic looking MORR logo that looks like it was on the truck for 40 years.... That would look killer.
I love seeing all you fellow Yinzers in the comments section! And I wholeheartedly agree - that’s a Pennsylvania New axle if I ever saw one. South hills guy here. In my old business we sold to schools so I traversed every town and neighborhood in southwestern PA. Seeing some of the names here took me down memory lane!
Keep the blue. It matches Blue Steele. The yellow MORR logo will look great on it. Kaulin's (spelling...not sure) idea for yellow pinstripes is AWESOME! Can't wait to see this blue and yellow workhorse on a recovery.
The pace, editing, attitudes, humor and camaraderie of this video was great. It's always good to see that Ed is out and about. Thanks for starting my morning on a high note.
Just seeing that interior brings back soooo many memories. I grew up in Southern Idaho and between pickin rock or haulin something those trucks were always used everywhere! 😁❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
At the very beginning of the video I thought to myself; that blue looks so good on that truck. Then a minute later you tell me you're keeping it blue. You read my mind. Thanks for keeping the heritage of that beautiful truck!
I always stand amazed at your fabrication skills. You make it look way too easy. Love the channel and the camaraderie between you and the other RU-vidrs.
Hadn't thought about the COE cab. That would put you right out front and give you a whole different view point when crawling over obstacles and rough ground.
Boy it's amazing how many likes you have after just 20 minutes. Hope you all stay together love the crew you have. And I'm sure we will see Tom Tom. Great family video.
I know it's becoming summer to you guys and winter for me in NZ but have you lot ever thought of having a homemade old-school coffee/hot drink kit in one of your trucks (or tracks). like a kit hidden inside an old military fuel can that opens up and has the kit ready to set up and make anything hot while you guys are out in winter or at a cold location. whatever you use to heat the water, fire or gas or even some creative means to boil the water and make drinks for the responding crew or even to those you rescue.
That COE cab is way cooler than the Spud Truck cab! Regardless I’m really excited for an actual off-road rollback build and not some expensive pile of the wrong parts and poor design. 🙃
Everyone is really doing a great job. Jake is awesome, he has really been stepping and getting the job done! Great job everyone! Love to see all the teamwork.
Way to go Rhett, way to go. You could have just kept your mouth shut about all the dangerous defects but your conscience said "no we have to fix this" way to go as a fellow human being I'm proud of you and your character level, top notch.
Yes! Paul Cox of FabRats. I already mentioned his build to Matt as they're friends and Paul had the same problem of shortening the bed to enable rock crawling to get to victims.
Im surprised you didn't use the military axles you have there at the shop that tom bought why you was away. Those would pull anything. Keep up the video's
I thought that was the intention of those 3 axles but I stead they’re going with Dana 70’s and either come up with ridiculously cool way to drive both or uselessly leave one unpowered.
I laughed when Matt said "I have never seen an axle this rusty" . I have had the center section of a gm 10 bolt leaking diff oil thru the cast it was rusted so badly. Gotta love salt in the north east.
Matt, Paul just did this! Now your going to have to have a truck off competition! Loading n unloading, efficiency in sand rock and mud, along with a tow off challenge where you drive,or move, to the wreck, recovery and load then cross a finish line... While on the trails! I know I'm a genius... Lol
Came to check someone had made this comment. But no-one in the shop said anything when Katelynn read it wrong (or found a wrong definition). Which was confusing. Did they mishear themselves? Matt at least actually knows the word and meaning, I presume.
Good morning MORR TEAM. Kaulin is a chip off the old block. Always positive and cheerful. Learning the business real quick. Matt putting Rhett in charge of repairs on “the train” ,while he is gone, is a testament of Matt’s respect and confidence in his kid. Awesome channel.
When using Mountain Dew to put out fires be sure to shake and open when pointed at the flames so it works like a pressurized fire extinguisher. Pretty sure it says that on the can.
That COE needs to become a future project. Prehaps an extra short wheel base large wrecker. Or even a vintage tow rig set up with a 5th wheel for hauling the other vehicles around.
I would agree with you on nominal, turning radius, but if you’re measuring break over angle, you go to the front axle. And on a truck this long, break over will make or break you.
I gotta admit I kinda dig that cabover cab. I get that it makes maintenance a pain, but I think that a "MORR" version of those European off-road Dakar trucks might be fun...
Matt, you are so blessed with your family and totally loyal work family. Kaitlyn, what a trooper she is not a dizzy blonde. She do anything that the guy's do! You rock girl.Cheers
Could you extend the original gas tank further back gaining more width from the cab so you lose less space for the ramp and gain more tank? And design a tool rack on top of the extended fuel tank.
@@ThePinkPanth3r methyl acetylene, propadiene/propylene and propane. most dont contain propylene any more as its used for plastics and the demand for plastics has grown. add oxygen and it burns very hot.
Man I like the truck u bought with the tow bed better. That thing so cool it’d be awesome lifted and it’s even got a little bit of a cab cab in the back to put stuff in.
I would so love to work on a current project, (or start a new one) by saying "I want you to do this, and you to do that, while I do this...". Its a foreign concept for me. My projects start with "I'll be out in the garage". Its awesome to watch everyone work together though. Great team.
Milwaukee is China... Diablo is Italian. That's the only reason to buy any other brand, I'm done giving China any more "anything" from my house thanks.
If you shorten the bed, make new bed locks that are 1-2 feet in length. This would allow you to not run the bed all the way forward, and you could effectively load a longer vehicle by having the towed vehicle pulled all the way forward (provided you don’t have a headache rack or pylon mounted to the bed. Detroit Wrecker does something like this on their rollback carriers.
Hi from Scotland! Matt, a thought for a fuel tank, and based on no knowing what else you have planned, by how about a long u-shaped tank like what the bomb has that hangs inside the frame around the drive shaft. exhaust etc could run outside the frame (if legal), and a sturdy skid-plate under the frame would protect the tank from any damage that might occur from "not rock crawling" it.
Go figure you start a roll back build and see what the roll back bed requires and check dimensions before you start building the actual truck. That’s why this will actually be a working rollback unlike a certain other channel’s epic fail.
Matt, Thanks to your videos I recently purchased some Patagonia Milestar M/T-02 tires for my F250 in 37x12.5x17. You have showed that those tires are extremely capable. I look forward to using them. My next step is PowerTrax lockers in front and rear, then a hitch receiver mount winch I can move to the front or back and some lighting. Then I should be trail ready out East here.
The good old double wrench hack is even used in authoritied shops here in Sweden, were you have every special tools you can think of and every tool is provided by the owner of the shop. If there's a tool you can buy that fits what you need you get it, we still use double wrench sometimes because that's the best application for those times.
Hey Matt, about the wheel lift... maybe it would work if you made just a wheel lift rig . The whole mechanism could be mounted above the rear tires and angled down.
Ok.. Leave it Blue.. cept add the 2 high vis stripes and reflective stripes horizontally like your shirt Matt. Them do the same thing vertically either on the B pillar or the headache rack for the bed to match the stripes on the sleeves of your shirt.. BONUS Pinstripe Spud Truck up on the cowl like your name badge... just a thought
That shade of blue is my favorite color lately, the new Blue Honda is using on their Civic and the blue that the Polestar Volvo’s are painted. It really does pair well with yellow.
That blue is too beautiful to be changed!! It is just the perfect colour for that truck and yes it does go well with the yellow!! Thank you so much for this channel. I sincerely enjoy every video you put out!
