To answer your question we have a stupidly long list of banned terms. I personally ban about 10-20 or so bots per video upload and then finally my audience self moderates and reports anything I miss. It's not perfect but as someone who enjoys reading their own comment section it's worth the hassle
Trrrue. They need their cash, and bots help boost videos which plays more ads which makes them money. Why would they care of their platform is shit? There's no other option
One of the worst and most irrational things about these bots is the fact that, somehow, they're able to comment the worst and most inhumane things possible (like endorsing cp, for example), while normal users keep being auto-censored by RU-vid even when they write the most innofensive comments possible. It seems that RU-vid have double standards for bots.
🚨 PSA to Penguinz0's audience 🚨 Don't reply to whoever troll bots you see. Report them and move on. Also, do not cause any comment wars over trolls as they'll satisfy themselves with your negative reactions. - Bait Police
Im not surprised RU-vid hasnt stepped up to combat hateful and disgusting comments. RU-vid Shorts always seem to funnel to hateful stuff too. I use the 'Don't show me this channel' function far too frequently.
Your account is 10 years old. Comment sections in 2016 were way more unfiltered, with people being free to basically say anything. Nowadays, a lot of stuff gets removed instantly.
90% of all my comments are censored by youtube. Basically I point out inconvenient truths and contradict left wing and mainstream politicalmisinformation
they actually do tho, on my main channel. i get to see all the random hateful comments that youtube has caught and held back just in case of it being inappropriate. i can then allow them or just have them deleted. so those comments on thise shorts just might be allowed by the creator or one of the very few bots got through. and as the other person said, 10 years ago youtube was still the wild west for the most part
How about this, RU-vid has to have a code or smth so that the same EXACT lines cannot be said in the reply section because what's the point of spamming in a reply section. If it's a comment then that would be reasonable but replys? Hell no. Maybe this suggestion works, maybe it doesn't. Who knows? But at least TRY SOMETHING.
Yep it makes no sense. I get the same. The annoying thing is you're shadowed muted. You don't even realize until you go back to your comment and it's gone. Yet CP and gore bots are everywhere with hundreds of likes
@@pancake_ghosty ага це так тупо твій коментар може бути видалений навіть якщо напишеш звичайне слово як наприклад "раса" чи щось таке. як ютуб не виявляє всіх цих ботів які говорять такі жахливі речі?
fact check me on this but i think the bots can bypass the youtube filter because they type the comment with some sort of special character that makes it look backwards to the youtube filter or something
What infuriates me most is how bots can comment things no human could ever get away with. Links are the perfect example. How tf are bots able to spam links 24/7 on a single video, but if I want to cite my sources, the comment gets automatically removed??? How does that even happen??? It's like RU-vid is helping bots.
Someone commented that its cuz the bots use special characters, they look just like normal letters but to a computer it looks like a random string of simbols
@@pendejadas6933This is also how bots get away with some of the most disgusting ban-worthy words imaginable in a comment while also dragging minors into it. They only post things that look like those words while using too many special symbols and accent markers to get caught.
Survivorship bias, for every 1 comment a bot makes that doesn't get taken down there might of been 100 that did get taken down, a good bot can try post 50 comments in a few seconds you will never see comments that didn't make it through the automated system
There's a horrible problem with bots in financial videos. They go like this: "I have investments/money/problem and don't know what to do" Comment reply is always: "I have a financial advisor you should use them" Then several comments back and forth asking their name and then thanking them. It actually kind of clever because it's not just straight up spam but it's disguised as an actual conversation but I've seen videos where the first 10-20 comments are straight up these types of bot comments.
@@FirinMahLazer1 More than half of those kind of bots are straight up very dangerous, as I found the bots similar to what you tell, but they spamming malicious fake "financial advisor" site links that could steal all your personal data and gets your account hacked in seconds if accidentally clicked
There's an unlimited quantity of words you can ban in YT Studio's auto-mod settings, as well as banning links entirely, which can help with the most egregious stuff. This platform's comment system actually does not propagate instantaneously nor consistently. If you cycle VPN locations all over the world, you can see the different batches of uneven comment propagation on popular videos before the database parses and merges the different server farm locations.
The amount of comments I see (especially on shorts) "Your content is inspiring! Keep shining! 🤩🌞" Is just ridiculous. I haven't seen too many of the racism/ harassment bots but I see alot of the above examples with the profile pictures being of people with hardly any clothes on. Surely youtube have the resource to actually start filtering these comments. I don't know how it's gone on for this long.
The frustrating part is that many of us will spend some time reporting all of the accounts, only to see them still up on the site a day later (with others, obviously).
I feel like those stupid bots with “today’s fun facts” or “don’t click my profile” were testing grounds to see if bots will be ignored. Then it spiraled out of control when it went unchecked.
@@TuShan18 (original comment by @THE-X-Force) They escape the filter because the text is encoded to display in reverse when copy/pasted (which is what happens when the report is sent).. so for the nonnative (and probably native too) english speaker .. it just looks like garbled text when they receive the report. Copy and paste any of them above into notepad++ and then try to edit in, or copy/paste from, the np++ to anywhere else and you'll see what I mean.
as a youtuber myself i really hate this problem, random bots keeps commenting on my videos and i always have to delete their comment manually but they don't stop
it’s very easy to tell a bot from a person, even if that did come true, those fake ass comments would just be ignored, AI will never be able to disguise as a human
RU-vid: “We’re removing the dislike button.” Community: “We don’t want that.” RU-vid: **Removes it anyways** RU-vid: “Keep content family friendly and don’t violate our rules.” Also RU-vid: **Allows ads that violate the same rules they tell content creators not to break** RU-vid: “Scams are not allowed on our platform.” Also RU-vid: **Allows scam bots to run rampant throughout the comment section** RU-vid: “We restricted your video.” Creator: “Why?” RU-vid: **Refuses to elaborate** Something needs to be done.
@@ilciabonno_69already been done numerous times, issue is that they have like a 0.1% chance of becoming bigger or as well known as youtube, eventually though there’ll probably be a site as big
i used to work as a graphic content moderator for youtube. a couple lawsuits later (for not providing adequate mental support for the awful shit we saw daily) our entire floor was cleared out in mass lay offs so our jobs could be given to people in countries with fewer legal protections for employees. i swear this bot issue didnt start until a couple months after that
if you cant handle graphic content then why did you become a graphic content moderator? that's like becoming a construction worker and then suing your employer for not paying for massages because the work is "too hard on my mucles"
@inscribedwar nah the officermappride guy came back after being spam reported but then got spam reported again and he will probably come back again sadly.
Dude its gotten even worse than just comment bots. I've seen actual ads on the youtube app that has a drawing/picture of Mr Beast which says "click here to earn $1000! My way of giving back to the fans". Its very clearly a scam/virus made by a fake account, but it baffles me how there is no system in place that woulr prevent this ad from showing up on the official youtube platform
It's wild that websites have the technology to recognize copyrighted audio and video in videos and streams, but somehow don't have the technology to recognize accounts that spam the same garbage in thousands of different videos and stream chats.
Ignore the bot, don't reply to it, don't interact with it. It'll just keep spamming more and more if it receives attention of any kind. Don't touch it.
I have comments deleted the second I post them for just replying something simple And sometimes theyre not removed from my POV only to everyone else- Ill switch to another account to check it and its not there but on my main it is. Its so out of whack that it doesn't even seem accidental at this point. If it is that only makes it worse. Like how do you accidentally make a system this corrupt.
@@Green-IV I have comments disappear all the time. I get a notification someone has replied to the comment thread only to find my comment is no longer there. As far as I know I have never said anything that can even remotely make it into a filter lol. Yet these bots say 100% banable things and they do nothing to them! No matter how much we report them.
@@mromutt it makes no sense theyre either trolling us or losing control of their own platform Or letting the damage ensue on purpose so they can take credit for creating something "better" afterwards I see no other obvious alternatives

@@TatankaTaylor there's people here interacting with the boys and glorifying them to piss other people off lol it, just like the bots, are everywhere.
My personal conspiracy theory is that RU-vid, lets bots rampant on the platform because they want to paywall the comment section. One day they’re going to come out with a tweet that says “hey, unfortunately, because of the big bot problem, from now on if you want to post a comment you have to have a RU-vid premium account.”
So…our freedom of speech on youtube would be locked behind a paywall…yeah that’s gonna be crazy times and the downfall of youtube hopefully. We need something new and better.
I hate those UTTP bots. There are bots making fun of random people for nothing, say that they’re better and some of them laugh at people when something bad happens like dieing in a game, an accident like a car accident or injury, and even deaths of lived ones. It’s crazy.
i think that bot is just a joke possibly in relation to the infestation that his comment section usually has. also just saw a reply say "My charlies are better than fart’s charlies" under a different comment which was funny
What is this miracle happening where I haven’t seen a single fart-bot in the comments on this video? I’m sure they’re here but I haven’t found one yet & normally they’re fartin all over the place up the wazzoo
What's worse is that the channels of these bots with the links are still up. It brings up to question why is RU-vid seemingly not doing anything about this problem
I theorize they’re being paid by multiple government and corporate groups to allow this to happen, like, maybe most of the audience-facing RU-vid staff don’t know this even But like, the content of these bots are very specific. It’s not always ads, there are bots that talk like people, comment with personal life experiences Go on any fringe political commentary channel and there will be dozens of comments saying “I live there and you’re right on the money!” Or “I have a cousin who worked in that department and he always made these really weird comments” or “I had 6 family members die because of this v @ x but this one is great!” Like, it’s certain political groups paying for bots and dispersing them to the communities where they’ll get the most interaction All of this to “fatten” these accounts, get interaction and make them seem realer, then they can funnel them wherever they want, make certain things trend and other things get shadowbanned from any audiences just by how popular they are with bots paid for by individuals!!! The internet has become so compromised in such a short time! Like, my grandmother can’t even operate a laptop without her computer getting bricked within a couple years! Hell I can barely do it! Edit: THIS ACCOUNT IM REPLYING TO IS SUS EVEN, Almost a decade old account and only one comment?! Tf?!
Wait until you realise the fact that they copy comments made by other people. Promote scams. Respond to other bots promoting their scam. And this goes even further than the comment section. There are channels who post bot videos with sometimes millions of views about crypto, AI, NFTs etc and thousands of bot comments.
The bots started getting really bad around the time when they started saying "so and so's dad is burning in hell" "markipliers friend is being tortured by Satan." Etc.
Right? Like those ones in particular, along with the new ones, made me so mad! Like, it was downright cruel to both Jack and Mark and disrespectful to boot. I dare say that the new ones are a lot worse though. I am too scared to look at replies to comments anymore because every time I do I feel like I am going to throw up because if it's not CP or just plain porn, it's animal abuse
Lots of assholes too. You go through Technoblades videos and there are people saying this guy is dead watch me instead, or my content is better. It's gone out of hand
Apparently it is not fake. People accidentally or got morbidly curious Edit: For anyone who is accusing me of clicking on it. You are sadly mistaken. Stop accusing me of a crime I didn't commit. Look thru other comments under the weirdo bot and Charlie comment section. F*ck off
Glad you’re talking about this. I noticed the increase and was wondering wtf was going on. I once commented on a music video and the replies to my comment were two bots incoherently arguing with each other. 😂
From a software developer perspective it is difficult and above all expensive to tell if a user is a bot or not. That is why YT seems not to be doing anything. If they go a bit too hard then they have the risk of being accused of censorship. It is an impasse really. A surefire solution would be to link every YT account to a phone number but that will identify you. Banning bad words is a simplistic solution that also removes comments from actual people, but I can see some RU-vidr may deem it acceptable.
Probably cuz many of these people at RU-vid headquarters are chomos themselves. I tend to get my comments deleted, watch this one go as well for calling them out
That guy is RU-vids mad scientist man, he probably found a way to make his videos invisible to bots by using watch time statistics or some crazy shit like that
It's not just the comments. It's product descriptions and reviews. It's howto and tech websites and news. Everything is fake. The things that aren't fake garbage will be fake in a few years.
@@GlacoriteI think valve's lack of interest was also a contributor. But dealing with bots on the internet, i believe that's significantly more difficult since it's such an open environment, compared to a closed of controlled environment like a video game.
The Spiffing Brit is like the kid in your high school that always knew the admin password for the computers, always had some type of way to bypass the filters, and also wasn't considered a nerd. That man is fuckin wild.
My cousin was that kid, multiple cyber security protocols exist in our public schoolboard because of him. They couldn't punish him because they hadn't written rules against it yet. He works for Google now
That's what's really infuriating to me. Usually I report bots, when I see them. But how the everloving fuck is is possible that I report the same bot on multiple videos having written the exact same comment under each of them and they're still there 24h later. That shit is just not ok. How many letter for letter identical comments do I have to report as spam for it to just work.
@@thecashier930 even if they get banned, they will go back up in a couple days. I've seen a bot getting banned and they comeback 1 day later with a brand new account
if you look at the comments on his new videos you will always seem the same bots spamming similar vile shit. there was one in particular under this video spamming cp links (some commenters said they checked and it was actual cp, but no way in hell am i going to check so i dont actually know) and that same bot is now spamming 'age is just a number' on his new video and saying their channel has a video of a woman crying when her dog's put down, so i'm guessing youtube only removed their og comments because of the links. youtube removes all links in comments pretty much, so it's very likely that the contents of the link and comment itself weren't flagged at all
It's funny cause they're on top of each and every word I type, I've had soooo many comments deleted or shadow banned almost instantaneously, yet they can't stop bots. Make it make sense.
It’s crazy because youtube loses their shit over people putting ad blockers on their sites and platforms and yet they can’t have any moderation for these types of bots is absolutely insane and disturbing.
I f**ked up for trying to click on one of the links out of curiousity, thinking that was some fake pranks. I was absolutely traumatised from seeing it, one of the worst moments of my life. It automatically downloaded at that time and i was wondering if it would infect my computer, i scanned multiple times with different AVs but no results. Guys, don't make the same mistake as me, being curious is the dumbest human trait ever. If you ever downloaded it, just delete that shit
My speculation is that these bots are deliberately as offensive as possible because the bot creators are trying to adapt their technology to be unbannable. 1- create bots no-one wants to see. 2- observe RU-vid and user reaction 3= apply adaptive framework (such as faster bot creation, terminology changing to prevent ban, different bot placement or timing etc) 4-repeat 2 and 3, iterating each time. 5- when the adaptation "survives" past a certain threshold, apply it to commercially viable bot systems such as ads.
they are using unicode to replace text that looks exactly the same... thats why yt cant pick it up... *facepalms* Dont u love being a computer person with NO power or leyway on the situation?
Idk if anyone has said this yet, but twitch has a “verified users only” option for twitch chats to help avoid bots. Maybe RU-vid can implement something similar if they don’t already. Channels can decide if they want these feature on or off for specific videos and should have the ability to turn it on a video even after oublishing
One thing I’ve noticed the last few weeks are bots that auto report/ notify and call out a bot comment. Literal bot wars in yt comments is sumn I didn’t think I would ever see.
Yeah like when bot 1 says "thank god for these videos, and now I have time to enjoy Charlie videos because of making the correct choices when it comes to trading, I doubled my earnings in a week....! Bot 2: "may I ask who you worked with?" Bot 1: " yes her name is Sanderson Sanders, I highly recommend her!" Like fuck off with this shit 😂
@@effmltalks Yeah those piss me off the most because its just self promoting scam bs that sometimes you don't instantly realize are bots so you may read for a bit only to notice that some ass wasted your time with their scam attempts.
Lol I remember when I first saw them, they were promoting some sort of Online currency and had most generic PFPs and comments, it’s like bunch of family members and friends having a chat on WhatsApp instead of YT comment section
The fact that they are every where makes it even worst, I was looking for players in group research on Xbox and there was about 180k posts and in a split second spiked to 200k and I scrolled for about 10 minutes and it was all bots, about 1000 bot posts each 3 seconds
I miss the simple bots, the fake youtuber giveaway bots, not the ones with big old honkers in their pfp or the ones who even tho are troll bots, I feel take things way too far to be trolling
Aside from adding the filters that block phrases, the number one thing that RU-vid could do is to allow channels to restrict comments to verified accounts like Twitch does or on Facebook where groups can limit comments to accounts that have been around a while so that new bot accounts can't comment on their stuff.
It's like RU-vid is telling us they don't have the money to hire engineers to take make simple software to combat this problem, yet they'll take videos down making fun of certain brands. Wild
They don't need to make simple software, because it already exists. They already have moderation features built into the site, it would be easy for them to implement a filter so that the absolutely wild sentences being left by these bots would never be allowed to be posted in the first place. Hell, you'd think their AI, which is super strict about NSFW content, would be able to handle PDFs talking about heinous things but... I guess not.
The bots are constantly making accounts and shooting out comments, and have algorithms to determine which are getting removed, and can automatically adapt. While you and I will have 50% of our comments removed despite being genuine and benign.

They use RTP characters (used for keyboards like arabic) to bypass the youtube automatic filter (which assumes the characters will be in ASCII) that's why you sometimes see those comments with "translate to english"
Uh-huh all I read was "Love how the uncensored version is on the platform" I see you're a card player, gig is up Hisoka, your YT career is forfeit! But yeah, really messed up. YT shadowbans comments all the time that aren't even worth shadowbanning yet can't be bothered to do it here.
I have ran into bots once or twice but i've never seen the kinds that are being talked about in this video or to the degree that charlie is saying it is, I think it might be to only certain audiences that they bother doing this to or that they're targeting certain youtubers
between these bots and the bots/accounts on twitter with the CP is also annoying. And twitter won’t do anything about it probably because the owner loves those types of videos
