After a week since my water leak in the road was repaired, the city paving crew finally shows up to patch up the pavement.. Took them over 3 hours to complete this small job and the backhoe driver wasn't being helped much by the over-winded supervisor..

To say the Backhoe Driver is inexperienced is not right! He was showing caution by checking his surroundings and being delicate by going slow and steady with the bucket. As for what he was doing, he was following his supervisors directions, whether the supervisor was right or wrong, the operator should/has to listen to his directions! I have operated large excavators and mini ones, ranging from a Cat 345c to a mini Kubota's and many other equipment. I think they had the wrong equipment for this job personally, based on how the backhoe kept sliding around. I had to "dislike" this video, not because it was badly recorded or quality but your horrible criticism on everything they did. Can you operate heavy machines or do better? Are you they one paying for this? No? Then stop being so negative! Even if the operator was a rookie, he (not the supervisor) did a good job! FYI, not being mean, just my two-cents! Nicely recorded and not shaky like some videos on YT!

I wasn't sure what that guy on the backhoe was doing and thought for sure he would screw something up and I would catch it on video LOL!

they need flagmen on each end of the work zone at intersections if possible and advanced warning signs placed

I hate when people do that... "They took too long", "He should do that like this and that" and 90% of the time people who say that have little to no expiriance on that job... I would say that operator was rookie and offcourse it took him longer than someone who has bunch of expiriance. I absolutely hate that when someone does that to me and i am sure that other operators no matter what they are doing hate that too. Especially if operator is a rookie... everyone was a rookie at one point, I say give him some tips but do not hurry him.

That was brutal to watch?? I'm a city worker but dang....we're not that bad..wow!! And yes that operator is very inexperienced. He needs some training.

Typical city workers. 50 of them on a 3 man job, 99% of them standing around entire time.

Just came across this video. I am dumbfounded by the work done and their total lack of ability. It's a miracle that no cars were hit and that your light pole (which is cool btw) was not damaged. I'm still shaking my head!

Thanks. I think the city finds the most incompetent people they can find.. Thanks!

They did a good job, I like how they pulled the pipe through the existing house service line to save costs... they did this work with resources as required, time between the work is not the issue... Imagine having a contractor come by, expose that line and dig the hole damn thing because no city inspector supervision. Would have cost the town a lot more... I am surprised they utilized Copper pipe instead of HDPE. Copper is expensive. Could be due to concern about damaging during the pull process.

They should have used the saw when they dugit up. Your tax dollars at work. Doesn't look like ANYONE knew what they were doing.

RVR2 how much are they paying this people I would just fire them and also get new supervisors
@rvr2
@rvr2 9 лет назад
I heard the city doesn't pay them much above minimum wage which may explain their work ethics
@Kendogfourlife
@Kendogfourlife 9 лет назад
usually construction workers get paid a lot depends which company right
@rvr2

True, but these were city workers and the city pays it's workers as little as possible yet they increase our taxes annually.. Amazing how that works
