We toured Sonora Caverns way back in the late 70's. You think there is nothing there now, you should have seen it then. As we started down, I thought to myself, we have been ripped off. Boy, was I surprised. It turned out to be one of the most pristine caverns I had ever been in. We lived in West Texas at the time and have never been back since. Glad to see they have an RV park there now.
Absolutely beautiful. If you happen through Chattanooga Tn. stop in at Ruby Falls and tour that cave as well. It's stunning with the waterfall underground.
Alice would prefer this pace of travel. We drove 14 hours straight from Canada to North Carolina, we were dead when we got there. Love this travel vlog style video, we know it’s a lot harder to put these together than it looks.
Hi Larry! I would drive longer too, but Shawnna, like Alice, doesn't care for long travel days. Our longest travel day has been about 5 hours. About the equivalent of driving 8 or 9 hours in a car. Shorter distances just means more planning and decision fatigue. Thanks for watching and we're glad you liked this video. Next weeks video is in same style, so stay tuned!
Enjoy the Alamo and Riverwalk. We were there in 2015 and had huge beef ribs on the river. We are beef eaters, we stayed at the Intercontinental . Enjoy !!!
Just started watching the both of you. Just got a 99 pace arrow getting it gone over. New plumbing, flooring making it pretty. You guys have helped a lot on what to buy for the road. My storage area is full of all new stuff. But boy am I scared lol thanks
Great video of travel. Enjoyed the music you guys included. So happy to see you back on the road. We hope to see you along the way. :) And great camera skills by Shawna standing up while driving.
Great video, thank you for uploading... My favorite is the puppy's reaction at 6:40 when you ask if he's ready to go... Great moments on the road... I want to go camping for my vacation this summer, but it seems like all the campsites are booked up months in advance... Any suggestions ?
Thanks! You are so kind. As for reservations, unfortunately things are only going to worse. We've found that most of the popular campgrounds that are close to major attractions fill up first, so we try to find campgrounds that are further away yet still close enough to be able to drive there within a reasonable amount of time by car. Hope this helps.
Oh wow, that's awesome that the pool was open! That's the first one I've heard of being open since covid-19 happened🙄 I hope y'all got in there and got some sunshine☀️🕶
:53-1:03 appears that going down the highway that you have a starboard list. Hopefully it’s just the slope of the street or maybe the angle of the camera. Good luck!
Love your videos and love your sharing your adventures and experience with your viewers. I would have to say it would be nice to inform the viewers the amount you paid for the stay at each RV park as you stay and if they are included in Pass Port America or such. Keep up the good work and we hope to see you in our travels soon, as we are hitting RV life full time in a few months.
Thanks! We don’t include prices as they can, and do, change. Inevitably, we would get complaints and comments about incorrect prices, so we just decided to omit them. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for taking me with you. I’m a cave fan been to colossal caves in az and meteor crater wife didn’t want to do Carlsbad 😕 kinda jealous haven’t been more than 300 miles from home for almost a year now. Happy travels
I'm a 5th year RV'r. After seeing your "breakdown video"; I thought I'd ask for advice. We have a 2007 Ford E450 6.8 Triton v10 motor, 19k on this well loved Fleetwood Tiago. I use Seafoam every 3rd tank of gas. In a do-over before the motor went; would you take any preventative steps with that 6.8?
The best thing you can do for any engine is to change the oil every 3000 miles. That gives you the opportunity to inspect the oil for any anomalies. Shiny particles or even metal flakes or chips. Also, if you get a CEL then check the code ASAP! Sometimes things just happen though.
Hey guys. Love your videos. My husband and I are planning this next chapter for us in 4 years. Seems so long. I saw that you both quite your 9-5 jobs. Are you doing any other online stuff for income or just U tube. You mentioned you worked all day.
Hi Rachel! Thanks for tuning in. We have our YT channel, a private consulting business that Shawnna runs and we work with a number of companies doing promotional work. We probably work more hours now than we did in our previous jobs but the difference is that we have complete control over what we choose to do. Best wishes to you in your upcoming adventure.
That was a fun video. Glad to see you're back on the road again. You've got 90 degree temps and we have 50's in the Bighorn National Forest in WY as we work our way to South Dakota. Too bad our paths aren't crossing. One day.
@@LyfUninterrupted just arrived in the Black Hills Forest and you might even be able to guess what campsite we're in ;). We won't give the coordinates out though.
You can burn a lot of calories riding a bike , so you can eat the icecream & not worry about it sitting on you , its what i do so i know , have fun sweet hearts & ty for taking us with you , its fun ! 💖 : )
Left Arizona today into New Mexico. Now the long drive across Texas to home in Florida. Boondocking/Thousand Trails/Boondocking/Thousand Trails. I'm heading to Caverns of Sonora too. Lol
We head out October 9th. We will arrive in the RGV October 30th. We cannot wait to get goin to the beach.❤️ Why didn’t you guys stay at Medina LK?… that’s our last stop,,, but the one your at in San Antonio looks great.
What happened to the tractor trailer that had wrecked? Was it an old wreck? Did emergency crew come thru or was called? The area looked remote and in a dessert?
The dust was still in the air so it must have just happened. It appears that everyone escaped serious injury as there were a few people standing around while the driver removed his things front then cab. That area is fairly remote. At least 30 minutes from the nearest town.
Stayed there last year enjoyed it, ask staff about a Mexican food restaurant right down the road, dont recall the name and I dont have my book with me. It was quite tasty. Safe travels, American RV Nomads.
Yes there were , not many using the pool though. You'll love Riverwalk in San Antonio make sure and ride the boat if it's open, hop on hop off was worth it as well. Safe travels!
ru-vid.com/show-UC7LtCeZIVAZu5bGYV6iwVUw I havent been putting our travels on but am working on it . The silly stuff is not what it's all about just wanted you to see who we were .
Hey Blake and Amy! We are very, very happy to be traveling again. Our plan is to head to Maine next spring, so a stop in Nova Scotia is not out of the question.
Thanks for sharing your adventures! I look forward to your videos. This is a strange question...do you come across campgrounds that insist on seeing your dogs health or vaccine records?
I'm finishing an 11,000 + mile trip across the US and now spending a week or so at a friends house in Chino Valley...Hopping it cools off in Mesa pretty quick. I sure wish every state would spend their gas/diesel tax on maintaining the roads...They all stink. Ice cream is always good.
Hey Tim! You got that right! Many, many roads in the US are terrible. Don't you just hate those bone rattling transitions between bridge and road surfaces!
Thanks for the info. I have heard the V19 doesn’t get the best mileage. I was expecting 10 mpg. Is that reasonable with or without a toad? And what about pulling thru mountains? We are both retired now and want to do some traveling over the next 10-15 years. The debate is diesel or V10. Don’t know if savings on gas prices would outweigh the difference in mpg’s.
Hi Jim. I’ve been tracking the fuel economy and was surprised to see that the coach gets about 10 mpg on average when towing. That’s pretty good. Mountains are a bit of a challenge. 45 mph is typical on steep grades.
When we were there in May the campgrounds on the CA side of Lake Tahoe were closed to new reservations. Meaning they only allowed one night transient stays. Thanks for watching!
Hi Bob. Music certainly is a personal choice and we know that as creators not everyone will like the music we choose. It is impossible to please everyone, so we stopped trying to do that long ago. In the case of the music we chose for this video, we felt it was important to give back to a couple of musicians who work very hard everyday to get their music heard. Thanks for watching.
Hi Vickiey! Do you mean the Caverns of Sonora? If so, sites range from $20-$30 per night, but prices may change so we recommend you contact them for up to date rates.
