This webinar explores issues related to financial capability of young people aged 15 to 17 and young adults aged 18 to 24, with a particular focus on people from the Black ethnic group.
The first part of the event will discuss the findings of a qualitative survey conducted by the Centre for Public Understanding of Finance (PUFin) at the Open University. The survey contained semi-structured interviews with Black students aged 15 to 17 facing different financial circumstances.
The second part of the event by the Money and Pensions Service (MaPS) will explore what we know about the financial wellbeing of young people from the Black ethnic group in comparison to those from other ethnic groups. This discussion will be based on the analysis of data at UK level from MaPS surveys including the Children and Young People’s Financial Wellbeing Survey, the Adult Financial Wellbeing Survey and the Debt Need Survey.
