Provision with doutful debts can also be shown in p/l acc. In credit side . By showing this in cr side we dont have to minus from dr side.

Sir Provision and reserves ka nature credit hota hai kyunki ise known liability ke antecepation ke liye banaya jata hai to ye profit and loss a/c me debit kyun karte hai

Sir I had a doubt in solving a problem Actually in the trial balance it was given Bad debts provision (1st April 2020) 3240 Debtors is 62070 And adjustments are 1. Write off further bad debts 570 2. Increase the bad debts reserve to 6% of debtors. This was the question So I solved this as I subtracted 62070-570 =61500 then I provided reserve for bad debts on this amount I.e. 61500*6/100=3690 Subtracted old provision which they mentioned in the trial balance i.e. 3240 So finally 3690-3240= 450 This 450 amount I had taken in outer column of profit and loss account Sir is this correct what I have done Because still it didn't tally the net profit
