Find and Search Functions |Difference between find and Replace in Excel
1. Both functions find the position of a substring in a string the position of some characters within a different set of characters.
2.FIND is case sensitive and does not allow wildcards
3.SEARCH is NOT case sensitive and it accepts wildcards.
4.Use LEFT FIND and SEARCH to extract first names

Hey thnx. For the tutorial…however I have a bit complex scenario…I want to identify cells with similar text ..Example: suppose there are 100 rows with company name…in few it’s mentioned as “ABC PVT. LTD.” and in some it’s mentioned as “ABC PVT. LTD” here in second scenario there is no dot at the end of string LTD…in reality these companies are same but excel will treat them two different companies…I want to identify such companies so that name correction could be done…please help me out…it’ll save tons of time for me…

@@Innozant if call a5 contains cucumber so pick veg , if orance so fruits , if chicken so meat if pepci or sprite or seven up so cold drink. Cell a5 contains a long sentence in which there may be either of these words. Is it possible to use array function with search to make the formula smaller and easier. Need your help. Regards.
