Find of a lifetime: I discovered huge fossil teeth and now they are radioactive

Holy clickbait batman! But really, I found some truly huge fossil teeth and they are in a vault until they are no longer radioactive 😀 I've been wanting to find some odontocete (toothed) whale teeth for a while now and I was really lucky to find these.
As far as I know, these are the first large fossil whale teeth found in my area, so this is quite a scientifically valuable find!
From the neutron scanned images, it looks like there is a number of teeth in there and some bone, maybe the mandible or rostrum. This is going to help me when I prep them as I will know roughly where to expect the teeth.

I found a limestone boulder on the shore of lake Huron in Canada which hss a fossil sticking out of it. The visible part looks a lot like two bananas. I don't know what they might be, maybe teeth? I took photos but I don't know where to send them for identification, any suggestions? My local museum wasn't any help.

The fossils in Ontario are Paleozoic in age so probably just coral.

@@Bothriolepis , hi, are you located in Ontario? I've been enjoying looking at all the rocks so much that I'm getting really interested in geology and fossils. I used to collect various things that caught my interest as a kid. Maybe I'll start a rock and fossil collection in my 2nd childhood. Wiarton quarry has turned up some interesting shell fossils.

I was working on a Dutch dredger, the suction pipe got the skull lodged in the end of it when we were sucking up sand to build an island.

@@Kerrsartisticgifts no I am not from Ontario. I just know a lot about the different areas I wish to fossil hunt in the future. The lakes have different corals, crinoids, and sponges but if you get lucky, and I mean they extremely lucky, you could find a trilobite.

What a rush dude....and to think, that toothed whale died and got covered by silt at the bottom of the seafloor, long before Homo Sapiens even existed. Sense of awe every time I think about that. Great find. Hope to see the processing for this one.

It looks like there is 7 possible teeth and a piece of jaw bone. If you look at 5:16 ish. It looks like bone thru the whole rock. In the center of the rock it looks like 2 parallel bones. And wow what a great find. Great now I got another thing to wait and see. Still waiting on the penguin which is gonna be freaking cool. Now whale teeth. Awesome

I carry it in a glass bottle. If it doesn't want to open, shake it for a few seconds which dissolves any that have gone hard 😀

Wow that is awesome! My understanding is that your teeth started radioactive? I was under the impression that all marine especially teeth were a little radioactive. I don't remember the specifics of why or how right now though.

It could be from the environment? These are definitely quite radioactive now!

@@MamlamboFossils I looked into it again. It has to do with the uranium that is dissolved in the ocean. It can replace the calcium during the fossilization making marine fossils more likely radioactive than other fossils.

A weird coincidence, as I’m watching this video I just got passed a small tow truck which appeared to have some strange metallic bricks on the windscreen almost like lead shielding! Don’t know why though
