Find the trail again, if you've lost it

If you lose your trail there are ways you pick it up again simply. The basics are that you use your compass, in reverse, to check your bearing/azimuth on the last known point. If you find you’re not waking on the correct baring/azimuth then you need to move at a right angle (from your current direction) and keep checking your compass until it points directly at the point. You are now back on your trail.

these videos are so informative and of such quality, thanks so much. I do most of my walking near my home in the Howgills, very few landmarks and it would be foolish to go out without a map a compass. You have refreshed my skills and renewed my love of the outdoors. I am sure my dogs have a better sense of direction than me sometimes !

Great tip. no math faff. Which could lead to a costly error if confused by stress etc. No problem with a recap on skills, or the real World weather conditions. Thank you for getting out there to give your public another interesting, fact filled video.
