Great job Destin. My daughters and I watch all your videos together and discuss. Your videos where one of the reasons one of my daughters wanted a microscope for her birthday.
Damn, he is extremely smart and his kids are lucky to have him for a dad. I wish I could've been blessed with a dad like him. I hope he gets accepted to be an astronaut one day.
I didn't think there was an audience present, until they applauded at the end, politely. Destin, that was fantastic. Did you get the feeling that you were talking to yourself?I felt like you should have said, is that anybody out there? I know, let's all join hands and try and communicate with the living. I love your videos. You are inspiration.
kitemanmusic Tha's probably because the audience doesn't get a microphone, therefore we (the viewer) won't hear them. Plus, in Austria, panto crowds are usually looked down upon, so there might also be a cultural factor there. The audience actually liked him a lot.
TEDx is basically a TED event by independent organizers, like TEDxVienna, TEDxBerlin, etc. In the US, many Universities organize their own TED conferences. I think TED gave people permission to do that only a few years ago. TEDxVienna was founded about 5 years ago.
The balloon in the car earned my subscription and is one of the first videos of yours I recommend people watch when I recommend your channel. Which is something I do when I meet an enquiring mind.
Although i have never met Destin. I can see in his videos, his body language and the way he explains his thoughts that he is a genuine down to earth person. I am a big fan and look forward to every video. Keep thinking and doing, I am smarter everyday because of your channel.
Destin is one of the OG science RU-vidrs... I am huge fan, along with a lot of other SciTubers... Destin is a huge inspiration to me, and a lot of other people, including other SciTubers...
TheTrueRandomness I think that were in awe of some weird things they have never seen before. Of course, it would be much more excited if they reacted outloud. Different cultures I guess :p
TheTrueRandomness The conference was held in Austria (a Germanic country), their reaction was pretty normal. Also consider the cultural history of Vienna; many world changers passed through there.
TheTrueRandomness I think that this video's audio was only sourced from Destin's microphone so it probably filtered out outside sounds. Like he was reacting to them laughing but we couldn't hear it through the video. Idk
something i learned in my life is. limitations are only imposed by those who limit them selves. he docent have where to start! he put himself in that position to be able to accomplish his dream to be a astronaut! same thing that you could do with yours. Stop thinking "if where in this situation i would..." and start thinking what do i have to do to be able to be in that situation? If you want to change something in your life all you have to do is change things in your life. Never forget that! life will not change on its own. you are who you are because of past decisions. If you want to change all you have to do is make different decisions!
i wish most teachers in school could do what you do. excitement in the basics of whatever subject you choose incites the want to learn more. simplicity is key. thanks man.
Destin is the greatest youtuber ever !, you just don't see true, rea; kind hearted out going people like this anymore, what a great person he is, wish we had more like him in the world today.
Destin this is a great TED Talk video. At the end of the video you mention inspiring children on RU-vid. Well I for one am not a kid watching you on RU-vid. I'm a 54 yr old guy who writes transit schedules for a living and loves watching your videos and getting "Smarter Every Day". Keep doing what you're doing!! I Love learning new things😁👍🏻
Seen this all before and it's just as fascinating all over again. Keep your eyes open, keep your mind active. The wonders of creation have not all been cataloged as yet. :-D

I've been trying for a year to get my bosses to understand the "you need to be a thinker and a doer" because that's what I'm always trying to DO. They sit in meetings and talk and accomplish nothing. I try and test things and ask questions to solve problems. Been following your videos from the begging Destin, you're awesome. I'm happy you're having such great success.
