I actually had to go look in my library to see if I had this book and I do! I haven't read it yet but now I will have to. I didn't know it followed mr. Mercedes and I have read that one and enjoyed it!
though i'm currently reading this now going to back of the book cheating it does connect some to the last book i dunno how much yet to be fair but i say read them in order. i'm only about 100 pages into. i really hate it when authors say i write these so you can pretty much start anywhere than if you start at say book #10 and it mentions shit from say book #5 than yes you do need to read the earlier books. the Scarpetta books some of them are like that in one book Point of Origin it has a WTF ending in Point of Origin my favorite thus far and than in Black Notice it's the aftermath for the next couple books. and started in a book that was later on can sometimes spoil the earlier books in way.
