Growing up, Mattie watched her dad, country music superstar Alan Jackson, sing songs that connected with people across the country, and she knew she was born to tell stories just like him. But Mattie never could’ve imagined one of the stories she’d tell would be a tragic story of her own: losing her newlywed husband Ben in an accident. With God’s help, and with her Jesus Calling devotional by her side, Mattie began to put the pieces of her life back together and found healing in the very ministry that she co-founded to heal others, NaSHEville.

Music journalist Deborah Evans Price passionately chased her dream to tell stories behind some of country and Christian music’s biggest stars, becoming a full-time journalist at Billboard Magazine. But Deborah learned firsthand that just because part of your dream works out doesn’t mean your whole life will fall into place. As Deborah tackled an unexpected cancer diagnosis, she learned there’s true joy in allowing others to come alongside us and care for us when we’re at our lowest.

Mattie, I'm sorry to hear about your Husband Ben. But you have the BEST singing Dad in the world. He has also sent me cards for Valentine's Day and Christmas. And last year he sent me one for my birthday.

Wow Mattie your a amazing woman I have 6 kids 3 girls and 3 boys I lost a 14 yr old son 86 then another son 2010 baby motorcycle wreck brain surgery 2012 son in a bad car wreck hospital 30 days I had to stay strong your awesome love you

I’ll never understand how or why? My heart just broke watching your wedding video. I am so sorry. For me, when my daddy just fell with heart-attack at age 65, I went thru stages. Despair, then broken, and dead in some way, then mad at GOD. I then began to cry again, feel again, and it was so slow. So slow like a slow running creek that had been dry for years. As the water trickled slowly thru that dry creek, it over time, begins to wet the dry creek until it begins to fill the creek with fresh water. Unbeknownst to me, JESUS had HIS hand upon me. The only way I knew was the time HE started to lift HIS hand from me. I could feel it. Just as slow as the water running thru the creek, HE slowly, day-by-day, lifted HIS hand when I could walk again and live again. It was a long process. Months upon months. Year upon year. Then one day I called my mother and said momma, praise GOD that HE provided a way thru JESUS CHRIST HIS only SON, for daddy to get to heaven. I was so thankful my FATHER, MY SAVIOR, provided a way for my daddy to go straight to paradise, HEAVEN!! Thank GOD for that! THANK YOU JESUS!

I’m an older woman going through a lot a Very difficult time I will be 82?in a couple months I got involved with a lot of imposter lost money over an entertainer I had fallen deeply in loved with. He is a lot younger and doesn’t know I exist. A ver inspiring entertainer I pray about my feelings but I have a Problem wanting to listen afraid of God’s Answer
