The target is Dusky Flathead in the 36cm to 70cm range in line with the recently introduced slot size limit in NSW Australia. The last few years have brought a lot of rainfall with the La Niña weather pattern. This has negatively affected the visibility and meant there have not been many good days for spearfishing in NSW Australia. With the weather pattern moving back to El Niño the rain is easing and the waters are clearing up. This provides an opportunity go spearfishing for the humble flathead.
