I missed you, your channel means a lot to me. First time, I started dipping my feet on Booktube, I didnt stay long because it didnt feel like home. I felt so disconnected. Then, one day I found your channel and it got me my 2nd start on Booktube. I have never left since and I have kept on subscribing to small BIPOC Booktubers. Thank you so much for sticking to it for so long. I pray you have an easier year in 2022 than you had in 2021! 💜
Hi yes, sorry I am obe of the people who voted on a few chonkers for BookTube Nonfiction Prize nominations so if those make it to the octa finals you can definitely blame me. (I told myself I would try to "read ahead" in January but it looks like the only thing I'll actually finish is Empire of Pain which I am 100% certain will be a nominee, but I was going to read anyway because Say Nothing was so spectacular.) Happy to see your update, I should definitely edit mine 😬
haha i'm pretty sure i voted for a few big books, so i will have to share in that blame too. if i get lucky, maybe i'll end up having to read the right to sex for it anyway, and then suddenly my choices will just seem super prescient (also you're reminding me that i really need to finish say nothing and get started on empire of pain)
@@BookChats i know, and i've been wanting to read that book for a while too, so i'm only going to have myself to blame when i'm stressing over finishing it. this also does support my conclusion that all oral histories are fated to be long
Very late to this video but I will be the one to say to pass on A Discovery of Witches. I didn't particularly enjoy but I did go in with wrong expectations (thought it was going to be more about a cool witch doing witch things and not a vampire romance)
I really wanted to like Arsenic and Adobo but it was a bit of a let down for me, loved the food but so much of it was generally nonsensical+didn’t like the writing. Really want to read Kingfisher’s romances!
