Good to know. I’m always wondering if I get all of them… This will be helpful.

Thanks. I've found it quite useful and it's easy to add if you set it up as a Macro.

Thanks Robin. I think my collection of saved videos has more of yours than all others combined.

Thanks again mate , you have a wonderful youtube voice ; and no annoying music 👋👋. I can do that Lr5 🥳, but it's great know of a way to do similar in Ap. I basically have the macro (unsharp mask) already in the Start macro . One thing I have not understood yet is why we need to put/use blank layer above the image when using the inpaint brush. Others online have said similar; but why?? I would be thinking fixing dust spots should be #1 job, then flatten image to start editing so why the blank layer? There seems to be times the inpaint brush leaves a "inprint" that can effect some FX edits like strokes/borders.

The new blank layer is to make the repair onto. The Inpoainting brush is a destructive edit because it changes the image pixels. By making the repair onto a separate layer, you can remove it later if you want to. It's common editing practice that's been around years.

@@RobinWhalley . Thanks for the reply. Some online wally was trying to tell me that using blank layer gave a better results with the inpaint bush as well as the clone brush; something I have not noticed so I just quizzing your thoughts. But I do agree with the non-destruction thoughts which I believe is not a problem in my work flow from Lr5>Ap>Lr5 . I do my clean up first ; if I get it wrong just go back in the history, or just delete/reopen the file from windows . I always rasterize and flatten the image before adding more adjustment layers . Good/bad/right/wrong and why I don't know. But I do use the blank layer if later in the editing. I find the inpaint tool is not perfect for the likes of removing tree limbs from the tree trunk, so I use the clone tool to cut a break between the limb and the trunk then inpaint the rest of the limb . Even cutting breaks along the limb than inpaint the sections works better for me . Inpaint brush is set 100 100 83 hardness Your great video showing lots of cloning/repairing/inpainting certain gave me lots ideas . Your reply not overly important unless I have it totally wrong ;)

Thanks for the video, very useful. When using Photoshop or Darktable I can always send images into other applications such as Affinity Photo etc, but can you send an image from Affinity Photo to another application? I use Epson Print Layout for printing and can't find a way of getting the image into it directly from Affinity Photo. Thanks

You can export from Affinity Photo which is how we save to different file formats, but I'm not aware of a way to send it to another application to open. I also wasn't aware that Photoshop could do this either.

Thanks for the reply. In Photoshop it's File/Automate/Epson Print Layout. Just thought Affinity may have something similar. I can export and load the exported file into Epson Print Layout instead. Great channel & content by the way.

@@SKTechnologySolution You can, but I thought you wanted to export from Affinity and cause the exported file to load automatically into Epson Print Layout. That's what I don't believe is currently possible. (Glad you like the channel).
