This is one of the most wholesome NBA documentaries ever. Seeing her get to play 1-on-1 with her childhood hero is amazing

Such a cool story, and great to see Big Country has his health, sanity, family, and just a peace of mind

This is so so so good. When Kat donated Bryant’s jersey and shoe to the Canadian Sports Hall Fame and the montage of all the kids learning about Bryant and appreciating him played… I started tearing up.

Thank you for making this film. I was a fan of Big Country. And for you to donate that items he give to the Vancouver HOF was incredibly honorable.

Bryant seems like such a genuine, good-hearted human being who did good with the money he made as a player. He put his family first over everything else. And I loved the genuine joy Kat displayed when playing basketball with him. THis was a super good piece.

Kat managed to turn this into such a feel-good story. It puts a smile on the Grizzlies legacy and shows Bryant Reeves as the great human being (and player) he is. Wonderful doco! I can't wait to see the screening in Toronto.

This is Fantastic! I’m from Oklahoma and I’ve been a pretty serious NBA fan for the most of my life. Oklahoma is very rural for the most part. I always looked up to Bryant . I always thought of him as someone who did the impossible and made it out. I like how Notable Former NBA players (Shaq) always give Bryant credit. He was good and gave players as good as him problems. It makes me sad that retirement came early for him, but he played his heart out every game. Long Live Big Country!

I never expected Reeves to be such a thoughtful and gentle soul. This is a great movie! Kat playing basketball with him was amazing and adorable - what a cool way for her to combine two of her passions, and bring the whole film together. Great job! Even the cow pies were a nice comic touch.

This is an absolute hidden gem of a documentary, the exuberance and joy of Kat just carries you through..and Big Country himself was a total gentleman.....I'm now gonna search for more of Kats' productions

Hey I just wanted to say that I loved your documentary! I’m probably around your age and I grew up in the lower mainland. My wife and I just moved to Grand Forks, BC to get away from the insanity that is Vancouver. Vancouver has always been an expensive place and now more than ever. Going to Grizzlies’ games when I was a kid was the affordable thing to do and it was fun. My dad couldn’t afford to take me to Canucks games so we did the alternative. Remembering the Grizzlies and watching this documentary definitely brought a warm feeling to my heart. Thank you for making it!

The grizzlies should hire this woman as part of their executive team. She has more heart about the grizzlies than anyone on that franchise or any fan in that city for that matter

To any kid who owned NBA Hangtime on N64, knows that Vancouver was always the main computer team to play against and Reeves would always whoop ass on there.

Amazing story. As a kid who lived and grew up Calgary I was a grizzlys superfan. I always felt bad for the guys like Bryant Bibby and Rahim they played their butts off every night. This put a tear in my eye as I watched one of my childhood hero’s exceed my expectations of how much of a amazing human being he is. Thanks for the amazing work Kat

Wow, he was the only player to be on the team in Vancouver and Memphis but never played in Memphis because he was injured. Kat is so cute by the way 😊

What a great story and very well made film! I have a similar story about basketball. I played til high school and got cut in university because of my height. One of the coaches told me to pursue something else because basketball is not for me. Hard to swallow that and I struggled for years. But it became my goal to show that particular coach that nothing is impossible. I didn't continue my basketball career but I continued to play and coach as well. Again thanks for creating this inspiring film.

This brought me back to my childhood and the era of the NBA at the time. So happy she could fulfill her childhood dream of meeting and playing a pick up game with her hero. I loved the game back then too and my life revolved around it. Collected cards,went to games, bought gear, and played all the time with the dream of making it to the NBA and playing on the Lakers. Never made it...but I definitely revisited those times and how precious and yet simple life was through this doc. Thank you for taking us back!

Love this film! What appeared to be a self-indulgent, albeit interesting, journey ended with a great twist. I bet this meant more to Bryant than it did to Kat. Do another film, Kat!

Thank you for releasing this, and for making it free. Great documentary. The one on one at the end was especially moving and interesting. Things have been strained between Canada and the US recently, but seeing how kind and hospitable our neighbors to the south were Reminded me of what a great people they are and how we have so much more in common than we do different.

I clicked on it because I was a little curious about what happened to Bryant,and there have been a few recent triggers about Vancouver basketball...but you grabbed the heart-strings early and firmly,and kept me engaged throughout. Basketball's loss seems likely to be film-making's gain,Kat's got mad skills.

So good! Thank you for creating this doc! I saw a picture at a red light (I live in Vancouver) and all it said is "have you seen this man" and it had a picture. My girlfriend asked me if I knew that person as she was worried about this missing man. I said, yeah that's Big Country. I thought it was odd to see this picture... but now I know why. :) Big Country was my favourite player and I always wondered what happened to him. Man so many memories. I love that you brought dignity to Big Country and who he is as a person. Very cool to hear you say how meeting your hero that he more than exceeded your expectations.

Not gonna lie, this documentary was amazing in so many ways. Kat seemed sincere and genuine as a person. I personally have been searching the web for Big Countries were about. This film answered almost all my questions. I feel so content now after watching this. **Side note. This film is worthy of some kind of an award, it was put together so well. Big salute to everybody involved in this film. From a Vancouver Grizzly fan and native British Colombian.

The Vancouver Grizz meant a lot to me as a BC kid because, unlike my other sports favourites (Canucks, Blue Jays/Expos, Lions, Cincy Bengals), I was able to get in on the ground floor of their existence. This is a terrific doc (Grizzlies fan or not) that makes me nostalgic, and it's so nice to see Country in such a great place post-basketball. Looking forward to 'The Grizzlie Truth' in a couple of weeks at VIFF.

Being socialized in the mid 90ies to the NBA, Big Country is no stranger. Even here in Germany. But boy, the Grizzlies were bad. And not even just on the court but the marketing around them (which is important to reach us fans in Oversee). I Collection their cards neverthelessy Great to get some insight to the Vancouver situation and of course great to see, that Bryant Reeves is doing fine (and still plays). These are the worse side effects to the NBA Business: Relocation and leaving fans, history and players behind. Great, that this film brings something back.

What an awesome, down to earth and genuine good Individual Big Country is. Thanks for doing this piece Kat, at last Bryant finally got some of the recognition he deserves.

He was a good guy. I was a supervisor at the Richmond BC Costco (where Bryant shopped). He came through the til once and, his Costco membership had expired. I went to override the temporary "block" on his Costco card and, give him a friendly reminder to renew. He asked "How much was the renewal?" and, I just said "$66.3 million dollars" with lightning speed and, kinda laughed out of an uncomfortable embarrassment for saying something that he *might* find offensive (he had no inkling of my "offbeat/witty" sense of humour). We looked at each other and...he laughed his Big Country ass off and extended his hand to me, shook my hand (I'm 6'5" - not tiny at all) with his hand enveloping mine in an almost cartoonish manner...and, said - "Will you take a cheque?" Brilliant. Then, once he was through the humongous Costco line up, he stopped to sign kids autographs as he was swarmed by approx 40-60 kids. He asked my for a Sharpie and, some paper and...he spent close to 30 minutes with those kids until each and every one of them had a Costco "blue card" with his salutation and, signature. He was a good man...from Gans Oklahoma!

I´m from Mexico and I remember how awesome the Vancouver Grizzlies logo was, I remember when they got into the league and of course their first star Bryant "Big Country" Reeves, this documentary is GREAT and is good to see that finally have something to remember the team´s history on the Vancouver HOF. Very well done, Amazing.

Not from OK and not even a big NBA fan but this documentary was so great. Not even really sure how I heard about it come search for it, but I’m stoked it’s available on RU-vid. Thanks for sharing.

I think this also speaks to the connections seen in small market NBA teams. The connections with players can still be still super intense, but they don’t get as much coverage as say Kobe & Lakers fans, and often times the players end up shrouded in more obscurity after the league

Thank you for telling this story. When I was a kid, I never thought much of Big Country, but getting to know him now, I not only respect what he accomplished, but more the man he is today. It's nice to see that not all ex-NBAers have blown all their money and are right back where they started, but instead still working hard at something. Mad respect.

As a 35 year old from a diehard Oklahoma State family I can tell you what I remember of Big Country's time at OSU. His first 3 years he was big, slow, and he couldn't jump or shoot. His Senior year he improved greatly and took OSU to the Final Four in 1995.
