Thank you so much for this video. I have a young captive bred B. Boehmei that I've had for a couple years now, and I'm trying to make her adult display enclosure as comfortable and beautiful for her as possible. I came to realize that I knew HOW to care for her, but I didn't know what natural environment really looked like. Finding them in the wild in shallow scrapes, as you put it, holds true with many keepers' experiences in the hobby - if they have a little hide they can tuck into, they don't really tend to burrow. You've given me a lot of ideas, and this has been very helpful all around. Thank you for the incredible work you do, I know it's not just for people like me but I'm happy to make use of it!

Kind of ironic to name the endangered spider after the first importer of the species, considering the pet trade is a huge reason why it's endangered in the first place

The first one must have lost that leg recently, since it looks relatively freshly molted and the leg hasn't started to grow back. Thanks for another great one and keep them coming!

Furry and impertinent, a red and black daisy between white flowers. The scarab is envious of her beauty and wears his best emerald tuxedo..

I have a one and I’m suspecting a hybrid. Carapace color is darker, almost a hamorii pattern

This the very important info, that i need, thanks so much. I will buy some packages of them and make a small area inside our garden as their Terrarium, but now is rainy season, the substrate always moist, but never wet, is that will be problem?

Now that I have found out that they are endangered and that I have one, I feel like I want to breed mine and free her children to the wild to bring their wild population back, is this possible?

No, you dont know the genetics of your particular specimen + any possible disease it may carry

Very good! One of my favorite Ts. Question: the species name boehemi is confusingly pronounced “ bay-me” and/or “bo-my” depending on the speaker. You use the latter pronunciation. Why?
@bugsnstuff
@bugsnstuff 4 года назад
Either pronunciation is acceptable.

bugsnstuff thanks! My wife was chided by a T vendor for pronouncing it as you do.

Considering you handle many of the species you find, do you have a reaction to any urticating hairs?
@bugsnstuff
@bugsnstuff 4 года назад
Yes, they usually affect my forearms and neck! You'll notice we didn't handle the Theraphosa blondi though...

What will i do if my fireleg went crazy?! Like going around its enclosure non stop.its like stress. I dont even know what to do. Please help me. Thanks!!!
@bugsnstuff
@bugsnstuff 4 года назад
Once males mature they will become restless in search of a female so more likely to roam. Females should remain settled if the enclosure is set up right.

If they go wandering of like that, can it find it's way back to the "home"?
