It’s funny, I came into this one back then expecting a good story but didn’t expect it surpassing impact To the Moon made. Yet Finding Paradise resonated on a deeper level. The core idea is just something that can resonate with almost anyone really and just stroke the chord with me. True masterpiece.

I knew it! I knew you'd LOVE this game. 5:18:04 - Love this ending twist part, and always go back to rewatch people's playthrough of it. Ever since I caught your playthrough of “To The Moon”, I had been looking forward to seeing your reaction to this. It’s been a number of years since I had played it, but all the memories came flooding back to me. Kan Gao is an amazing story crafter. I felt the same way you did: that the only change Faye made was to erase the desire to see Sigmund Corp. These games never fail to make me cry. What a journey! I continue to love these indie playthroughs! I played through this one myself before watching. It didn't make me ugly cry like To the Moon, but I still enjoyed it a lot and I got some increased appreciation for the game from watching this.

A Bird Story was also completely without dialogue, how would you know that her name wasn't Sofia, unless you already knew the plot of Finding Paradise?

Ok Clever Girl, we have to talk. There was this moment where Neil says the surname is "Hatan" and the first name is "Man". Look at this again and please tell me you can see "the reference". If not, I think we have to take the clever away. :p Our memories are certainly closely tied to things like sounds and smell, much more than images. I think I could probably tell you most about my life with certain music tracks. I suppose you have seen the new Fable trailer? What did you think? Like you mentioned earlier, they are working on that To the Moon Beach episode, dont know about anything else. The ending just shows you the games in chronological order and that there will be more. The next one is called Impostor Factory btw. I think Finding Paradise is probably the most relatable story. We all have regrets, the question is if we had a full life, including them. I have played and watched all games and they still get me just the same again every time. I dont know why either. You could point at things like the music and the writing, but in the end its just the feelings they transport I suppose. Thank you for playing!

**IMPORTANT** Please make sure you complete the To the Moon Minisodes 1 & 2 before you move on to Impostor Factory. You already own them - they were included with your copy of To the Moon. They give very important insights which you'll be glad to have when you play Impostor Factory.

Thanks for playing this. Finding Paradise was my favorite of the whole series. To The Moon was an emotional romance story, but Finding Paradise hit harder imo because it was so much more relatable. The idea of constantly letting small regrets take over your head, instead of focusing on the so many incredible amazing memories that can happen afterwards, with the people you have in the present. I still tear up when I hear the piano song in the final scene between Colin and Faye, and it still breaks me when I see that parallel in that ending scene when Colin and Sofia kiss each other goodbye. It sounded like you caught on at the end there, but yes, Faye was the bird he met in A Bird Story! He was a lonely kid, so when the bird left, he kept her in his head as an imaginary friend until "she" was able to push him forward. She helped him Find Paradise in what IS in his own real life. Definitely check out the minisodes before continuing to Imposter Factory, I think Minisode 1 is mostly fluff, but Minisode 2 has some important story elements! And I believe the finale of the whole series is coming out this year too.

Just finished watching this Neil is a madman and I love him, was completely blindsided in Act 3 and everything that followed, and now I need to go watch the other two games before this one! Thanks for another awesome gem, Kasta!

So glad you were able to finally get to this amazing game! Like you said in your conclusion, Colin's wish is so relatable. I think that's why this game continues to stick with me more than To the Moon, as great as that game is. We all have those regrets, but instead of looking at the what ifs it's important to focus on what we have and who we are. The memories Neil and Eva traversed all focused on those regrets. In the end though, Faye was able to help Colin focus on the happy memories from the photo album and more. While his parents weren't around much when he was growing up, they were doing their best to take care of him (as shown by them giving him the Rudog toy and tucking him in). I think Faye was the "human" version of the bird from A Bird Story. He couldn't fully let his only friend go, so he manifested it as an imaginary friend. It's amazing how she was his first real friend and got him through the early part of his life, went away when Sofia was able to fill that loneliness hole, and then was called upon again at the end when he needed the reminder that he lived a wonderful life. He was able to find his paradise in the life he had already lived instead of in a life that could have been. Thanks as always for your fantastic video/commentary, and I can't wait for you to enjoy Imposter Factory!

Freebird games make me cry a ton. Kan Gao's piano compositions are tear machines.

Faye and the bird were one and the same. Collin took that bird adventure to heart when coming up with Faye. That’s why, up on the mountain, she tells him she’s been there to hear him play twice (once as the bird, another as his imaginary friend). They were both Colin’s first friend. And that’s why Faye has wings.

Love these smaller quaint games!! Would love to see you take on Child of Light… wonderful music and atmosphere and a cool take on a classic fairy tale motif

I have been waiting for you to experience this. It’s one of my favorite games, it’s so relatable on many levels and I really love Faye, her character has so much depth and meaning. The storytelling in these games is just absolutely incredible. I also love how much it ties to the Bird Story. Because Faye is actually the bird he found, “his first real friend”, that’s why she has the brown dress btw. There’s so much more to it, and it’s all so well connected. And I’m not even mentioning the music. 👌 Thank you for reminding me why I love this game and have a great day. 🤗

Impostor factory when?

Hi Maggie, this has to be the best and most emotional game I’ve ever seen and again I love your voices for the characters and your reactions to everything too....the puzzle solving isn’t bad either😂. In order for me to tell you what I got out of this play through, I’m going to have to share a bit about myself, which isn’t something I’m used to. Many of the themes here spoke to me: regret and death to be honest. I’m afraid of death, I hate the idea of missing out on something and I like the idea of living forever and keeping a younger age, the fact after all that time on earth I just end up a decomposing mess at the end of it all fills me with dread....not that I’ve done a lot in my 39 years on this planet at the moment, but like Colin in this game, I feel like there’s a lot haven’t done and yes I too had an imaginary friend as kid and still do to be honest.I guess that’s what I got out of it, I don’t think I could accept my time being up when that time comes and I’m not sure how I’ll feel when my grandparents both go, who I’ve with since I was 3 and yes the past has a lot of regrets for me too. A great game, a great play through and not too many games I’ve cried watching or playing. Take care Maggie, love your content👍.

Game recommendation: Gris. It is an audiovisual masterpiece about a young singer working symbolically through the stages of grief after losing her mother. Since it is exceptionally beautiful you may want to record that one without a webcam or with the webcam in an extra column adjacent to the game screen.

Whew, thank you so much for that playthrough! Yup, this is definitely my favorite entry of the To the Moon series, less of a whimsical fairy tale of sorts and more focusing on the emotional implications of what this kind of memory altering technology could do to someone. I look forward to seeing your take on Imposter Factory as well, however when all is said and done... You know the vocalist of the song at 5:50:16, as well as the vocalist of the song 'Everything's Alright' from To the Moon... well, she also has a game in this same style. If you'd like to add another tear-jerker to your list, check out 'Rakuen'. It's a little longer than the To the Moon entries, maybe around 10 hours in length or so. Best to have the tissues handy, lol.
