I am most of all happy for Rick Riordan. To have gone through what he did with his stories, and to finally see it be adapted in the way we all wanted, is so sweet. I really never thought we would get the show/movie we deserved, the way Harry Potter did, but here we are. And for those questioning the cast (very few are now, ha!) it is so clear to me that they were meant for these roles. Walker is percy jackson, through and through. It feels like fate. Middle school me is freaking out over this. We all have to make our friends and family watch this- they deserve a second season. Rick Riordan deserves to tell the full series. It would be so cool to watch these actors grow up and grow into themselves. Ugh I am so hyped.

Walker, Leah and Aryan are perfect for the roles! Leah has such Annabeth answers in interviews, Walker is hilarious like Percy, Ayran is literally just perfect for Grover, if you disagree literally fight me

I’ve watched all of Walker’s films so far and I can say that he’s going to nail the role of Percy Jackson. He’s absolutely perfect. I don’t care that he doesn’t have jet black hair. I’m just happy that the characters were cast at the right age, and that the team is very dedicated to making the best adaptation. I couldn’t ask for a more better team at adapting this amazing series. I can’t wait until next week. I won’t be able to hold in my excitement. 😊

I got into the movies a decade ago, and that’s when I started getting into the books, which have more details. This is what we fans need for great storytelling these days, not that silly, unnecessary rehash for Harry Potter. This series is like Stranger Things and Harry Potter combined!

You know long before the news of Walker being casted as Percy came out, I always thought he reminded me of someone. Someone witty and brave, loyal and funny. And then the news came out and I was like, "Ohhh that's who it reminded me of."

I love this! I’m a huge fan of the books since finding the first one in the school library so to finally see it come to life in a true way is truly a dream come true(ps: 3 days left!!!!) I also enjoyed this featurette as an upcoming film maker!

With the new cast, Riordan feels that everyone involved is "perfect," even if they don't look exactly like how they might have been written in the original books. With Scobell, Riordan noted, "Did I care that his hair is a different color than what is described in the book? Not at all. He just felt like Percy.” With Simhadri's Grover, Riordan similarly added, "Does he look exactly like I describe him in the book? No. That doesn’t matter." "Leah impressed me from the moment I met her. She has that sort of steel that makes her a leader, but there’s a bit of vulnerability to her," the author went on to say about Jeffries. “Now, again, does she look like Annabeth looks in the books? No. Was that important to me? No. If anything, it was a massive benefit to broaden the cast in terms of representation.”
