Zs have big wheel wells, especially in the back. 19s are what look best on them but might not be the most practical for drifting. Realistically you can get away with 18’s on a Z but to fill the wheel well you usually have to run 45 side wall tire or 40 if it’s slammed. 35 and 40 side wall fit 19’s good on Zs, but 18’s need beefy tires and wide wheels or spacers to fill the fenders👍🏼 good luck brother I’m sure you’ll sort it out 🙌🏼
19 isnt good for drifting tho. Expensive and small sidewall doesn't give good site bite because it doesn't have the flex. 18 and meaty tire is the way to go.
I love the progression of Chris over the years ! Congratulations dude your killing it ! Brining Will on board is awesome , I can’t wait to see how much he picks up from being around the crew
You should keep the black wheels on the 240 throw the rpf1s up and save for a rainy day and just start over with the 370 and do your research and figure the perfect fitment out. Cuz tbh the black wheels on the 370 are ugly. Love the vids been following ya for over 4yrs keep up the great work boys
I don't drift... but I assume if I had a S14 and a 370z that I could find the perfect wheel spec on the internet after five minutes of research. They literally said in the video that they were going to stop guessing... but they still are.
hey man, I have to say 17x9.5 18et is the move. Definitely lower the rear too, you'll love the drivability of it so much more if you get the rear lower than the front. Front looks great!
you adjust grip on a driftcar by tire pressure! way easier than changing tire sizes. use a 265/35/18 and then blast the pressures to 60psi and you will be rippin! the larger tire has more rubber which will dissipate heat faster. heat is what kills tires in drifting
Rpf1s on the z would be good. Silver on silver is fine the black on silver you can't even see the wheel. Just looks weird. Black wheels on the 240 looks good though... Hit up grit Flanders and get those hot boi pink wheels like his chaser. Would be sweet on the z.
Will just said what I was thinking, the deep lip on the 20's definitely helped too, because I feel an 18 but with a deep lip would fill it in a lot more
I'm so stoked to see this video up. I needed to escape reality for a bit. I'm having a terrible day and today is my birthday imagine that. Anywho, thanks for the laughs brother.
370s look goofy with 18s pretty much no matter what, that and the specs of the rays are pretty buns. Car would have looked great with a 19x9.5/10.5 with a +12-22 offset setup been through several sets on my car. Rpf1s are one of the only wheels that don’t look ass on these cars with 18s. 240 looks great on the 18s but the fenders will be toast in no time from the abuse it’s going to get unless you raised it a tad. Worst case scenario keep some of the rays for the 240, start over with the 370 for wheels
The main reason 18's look like ass on the 370 is because people run way too small of a tire. If he was running 275/35 up front and 295/35 in the back on a 9.5/10.5 stagger, it would look perfect. Ran that on my car and it was perfect.
With all the cars you put wheels on, you should get a wheel tool that you can put a tire on and get the perfect wheel spec for. CCTek Wheel Tek tool was one but they make others.
@@Tbrick563 true though he does more than just Z,s and 240’s. Also it’s nice to be able to tell for yourself instead of taking others peoples word for it. Be good content him showing the tools and how to get real measurements to those that don’t know.
First video of yours I ever watched was you going over you bike crash. Since then you have been near the top of my rotation. It has been genuinely enjoyable and inspiring to watch your growth on the channel and personally. From the move to Florida to buying the M2 to getting serious about drifting again. Keep up the amazing work!
255/40/18 on the rear for z. Tire streets offer options in that size. Bigger sidewalk will help fill in the gap, but still get grip and have tire options
those wheels on the z would look alot better with the car a bit lower and the wheels were a different colour. maybe have 4 of them refinished silver or something and just run the remaining black ones as drift spares. dont know just a thought.
You would think that after 100 years of wheels and tires they would have figured it out by now. Why no get the right tools (digital caliper). Its just Math Ruddy! You got this!
Damm that 240 looks sick murdered out with the black wheels 😍 Definitely keep the car black and vinyl wrap the car black and maybe put vinyl graphics towards the rear 🤘😝
Tommy does own a powder coating oven, you could always just powder coat the gram lights a different color.. id just talk to Jimmy O and do a sr-nat setup like he just did in the s14. Cars are looking good though
Only good thing about black wheels is that if you curb them you can just spray paint them black. They just get lost in the wheel well. Bronze is the way to go
As someone that low power drifts a lot I run 18x9 +15 215/40-18 380ish treadwear and a lot of tire pressure. Sidewall barely rubs on the fender with 0 degrees camber. Kansei wheels have handled all the dirt drops and potholes
With all the different cars you want to drift, getting one wheel for all of them is a safe bet, and can space a bit... Black on Black is better than Black on Silver... You need to raise the front, make the car more useable.
@@GeoTheDeity I don’t get they hype either, but I do like the wheels, they’re just not my favorite. They’re a “real” wheel, they’re not terribly expensive, and they’re really light and come in all the sizes you’d need so I understand why they’re popular
The black on black is good. The silver is eating up the black and you can’t even see the wheels on video haha in person I’d probably like the silver and black though
I say RPF1 on 370Z.👍 Keep the murdered out look on 240 till you wrap the car. Then wrap a spoke of each wheel like the TE37 Black Edition and see if you like that look. Dunno if this will work but, if you have a Firestone shop there maybe getting their "Lifetime" alignment for $199 for each of your cars can save money. Keep up the great content!!
Hey Chris. Have you thought or Tommy thought of buying a wheel simulation tool to check all the specs for wheel and tires? They’re about $500 on ebay. Might save you money in the long run. Just a thought.
The 350 Z doesn’t look too bad I really do Like the black rims it makes the car look a whole lot better but the car would look better with headlights and tail lights down
Bro the old rims that were on the z were super sick bro who ever said they’re trash. Those are probably the guys that would put daytons on anything and they’ll say dam that looks good lol 😂.
Put the gramlights on the 240 and get new wheels for the z. That way you don’t have to run huge ass spacers on the z and can get the correct color and offset
You gotta buy a camber/caster gauge and a set of toe plates and just do your own alignments man. You will save so much money and time, you'll learn a lot about tuning the geometry too. I honestly truly promise its not a hard job to do in your shop!
yessssss, put 370z wheels on 240! then get new wheels and taller tires for the 370z, step lips wheels are a must. 5 spok was hot but multi spoke is lit too. get a 265 or 255/40/18 for the rears
The white 33 GTR on lmgt4s (my car 🤣) at the end of the video is kinda similar, but the NISMO accent breaks up the black to make the wheel stand out better against the paint. I say put a mint junk colored accent on the wheels if you run them on the Z
