Yellow is deeper so it's probably his. But you can't tell from a video...depends on other things like how long each guy was waiting also

Furthest out gets priority. Where I surf there is no longer etiquette the locals think they own the place its get in the way and every man for themselves. I try not to be like that but no choice or waves, I'm an ex local I think its cheek , so now I mostly surf sup or foil and absolutely charge everyone down . I blame society it seems like a race to the bottom.

First guy paddled from the outside of the second and was at the peak. At 0:07 seconds you can see him already up on his board engaging the wave while the second guy has still not popped up. That’s when #2 should stop. Maybe guy in yellow was waiting for longer though. At the end of the day, we should stop pointing fingers on every surf video unless the action put someone in harms way. There was 500 guys out there and it’s inevitable. Promote good behaviour and good vibes instead. It will benefits the sport
