Finding Weird & Interesting Merchandise At Disney's Hollywood Studios & Construction Updates!

Today we took a trip to Disney's Hollywood Studios to have a look at the progress of the Star Wars Land and Toy Story Land construction. While we were there we found all sorts of strange and interesting merchandise that is available in the parks, such as a Pirates of the Caribbean Stich doll and Disney themed emoji plushes. It was a very busy day so we didn't ride any rides, but we did look at the wait times for Tower of Terror and Rock N' Roller Coaster. Both these rides had massive wait times because the crowd levels were so high this day.

The unicorn is buttercup from toy story 3 he's one of Bonnie's toys. As for the pirate stitch I mean he's every where including the top of the world of disney store spitting water at people.

Hollywood Studios was a bit of a let down for us - we ran out of things to do by midday. Roll on 2018 when Toy Story Land and Star Wars Land open

Jackabella Last time I went to Studios was my travel day. I arrived to Disney at 2PM, checked in, and went to Studios for the rest of the day. It's not a full-day park right now at all

Jackabella it will be with the new lands it'll for sure be a full day but the problem is it will take a full day just to get on one of the new rides

It's a park you hop to if you have the park hopper tickets. It could be a full day IF you don't use any fast passes. Especially if Rockin Roller Coaster is at 2+hr wait.

I definitely think it's like the adult park out of all of the parks here at Disney! Really not much to do! But still a fun time if you can afford it and kinda just want to hangout and take your time!

I feel like the Toy Soldiers SHOULD freeze up on "Andy's Coming!" because none of them fall on the ground, they just go to their figure pose, which other than the 1 that crawls on his belly, all stand or kneel with a prop

Ha, so true about that shirt! I feel like a lot of their merch looks like standard promo stuff you could just slap a logo on. I'm loving the fan made shirts far more these days.

yep, not much at HS right now, that's why such huge wait times for RRC and ToT. lots of Star Wars stuff, only to get bigger! If it's faster to walk, that's what I do...

Wow! I love those stuffed animals! The horse is Buttercup from Toy Story 3! He is one of Bonnie's toys in the movie! This park is so cool! I really want to come to the Happiest Place on Earth!

I'm a walker - good exercise and I like taking my time and having my space haha Plus in Disneyland Paris there's a lovely walk from all hotels to the park. So nice! We go through the Village too which is the equivalent of the Disney Springs I think? It's all much smaller though haha

Tbh I'm a tram taker. Its easier to make sure everyone in our group stays together, and gives us some extra time to prepare and plan things. Also, it gives you time to take some pictures with the fam!

Tim - Years ago they would sell the "tush cushes" (as I would call them) :) at the Villains Store on Sunset Blvd., and yes - they were for Fantasmic. Mine was much bigger than the one you showed, but thinner, and really nice - black - with a great pic of my fave Sorcerer Mickey (notice my name?) :) flames, and over coming evil. When I wasn't using it (at my fave show!) :), it actually had a hole in the stop of it (maybe to aid in carrying it easier?) that i used to hang it on my front door, like a wreath - only better! :) gentle hugs for Bandit!!

8:12 Tim, I guess you're pointing at Buttercup, the unicorn from Toy Story 3. If not, then it'll be one of the following: Pluto, Chip /Dale, Bullseye, Mickey, Minnie, Stitch, Dumbo, Bambi, Oswald, Sully etc. Great video!

Yeah dude... I was at WDW last week and the crowd wasn't bad. However, it was packed crowd wise in Epcot and Typhoon Lagoon on sat!!!

Ever since this Park opened as MGM studios it has always made me feel like it should be more than it is. I always have a fun there but have always felt it could be so muck more. I really feel Disney rushed planning and building the studios, because of the announcement of Universals Orlando theme park opening in Disney's back yard. The addition of the two new lands Star Wars and Toy Story should finally make the studios a full day theme park and help the Studios to finally reach it potential. Thanks for keeping us updated. We travel WDW annually. We are DVC members always watch your channel to see what's going on in Orlando and the theme parks. Especially Disney World.

For the question at the beginning it depends if the tram is full or looks full we'd walk but if the tram is empty and about to leave we'd get on

We walk at Hollywood Studios and Epcot - Tram at Animal Kingdom. Magic Kingdom depends on where we park or if we are staying onsite

I'm a tram taker. I'm older, though lol. I do all of my walking in the parks, and that's a whole lot more than I'm used to. I love all of the snippets of information you give like the dirt taker. I would never have known that. Now I'll look for it when I'm there in 3 weeks!

I can totally understand the tram taking. I think I'm a bit more of an intense theme park goer. I'm usually only there for a few hours so I pretty much run from the car and make a lap or two around the park.

Yeah, I only get there every 2 or 3 years, so I'm there from opening to closing. Although now that I'm 58 years old it's getting harder lol. If I lived there it would be different, I'm sure. I live vicariously through you and Jenn when I'm not there. Hoping to run into you someday. I'm so grateful for what you do. We're celebrating our 38th anniversary in the parks the last week in April.

We take the Train if its close, if not we just walk. Love how Figment is having a great year! A time lapse of the construction would be awesome! Thats a long time to wait for Tower of Terror and TOT! The That pad for parades is smart! Also would be useful for Fantasmic as those benches could start to become very uncomfortable after a while. Thank you for sharing!

Disney's sold Marvel stuff since about November (ish) that I know of for sure! The guardians of the galaxy Vol 2 has been out for about 3 weeks now! The unicorn is "Buttercup" from Toy Story (3 I think?) and PoC Stitch has been out for at the very least a year! - A World of Disney CM (:

I take the tram because I visit the park with my grandparents who are unfortunately getting old (although they are young at heart). My grandmother has some foot problems and she can't walk very far. Besides, I love the tram!

Ok! So, reason that Guardians can be in the park: Before the movie came out they were a much more obscure comic so their rights were not bought up. That is EXACTLY why Disneyland is building a Guardians ride. Because they have the rights to that one marvel property to be in the parks, so they can do what they want with it.

We walk usually every time unless a tram is right there about to leave. We usually always take it at the TTC unless we are close enough

i was there 3 weeks ago and went on toy story mania 5 times one night, just walked right on every time. i suggest you head over to the ride a half hour before it closes while everyones watching the star wars show! rock n roll and tower of terror had 100+ wait times so i think its worth it to head over to toy story mania instead right before the park closes

Hi, Tim; Just wanted to let you know the reason you see Marvel merchandise at the parks is because Disney owns Marvel. They purchased it in 2009 for $4 billion. It's officially a Disney subsidiary company. That's why some of the movies have been... slightly more "family friendly" lately.

2+ hour wait times are small here in Japan. 3+ hours in good weather are typical of Universal Studios Japan and Disneyland Japan.

We never use the tram. 1. It's a pain to load and unload strollers 2. It usually isn't very far to just walk

walk or tram depends on who I am with. going myself I walk. Going with family especially if the nieces and or others that can't walk as fast or as long are with me the tram is the best.

I was there December 2015 and I remember there was a little corner that had some Marvel merchandise. It was near the car show and where the backlot tour used to be I think. Or maybe it was near Watto's Junkyard. I was just as surprised lol.

When I worked Disneyland retail on the hotel side we would get the word from the monorail castmembers that the Candy Shop on Mainstreet was making The Strawberries! We'd take the tram over and sign ourselves in during meal break and buy a couple each. They were huge, sweet, covered in white or milk chocolate and rolled in almonds. We would leave the park and eat them on the ride back. Word of The Strawberries spread to every employee. You had to be in street clothes to buy them. The guests found it strange if one person dressed like them bought 20 or 30 at a time for everyone in their area. The candy crew knew what was up. 'Strawberries for castmembers!' was the cry. I'm sure it's not that way anymore. I'm talking about when the park closed Mon. & Tues. because not enough people bought tickets to make it worth being open. Yup. That actually was a thing.

For Hollywood studios, I always walk and not take the tram. Magic Kingdom I always take the tram to the TTC.

Hey Tim ! Some answers to your questions! The wall that's still up on streets of America is still there because it's part of the structure of sci fi dine so they have to figure that out before they change it. Guardians can be in the parks the only marvel characters that can't are avengers. The unicorn character I believe is from toy story 3? And roo is probably attached to tigger because they are best buddies! Keep up the great vlogs Tim and jen!

Hey Tim whilst each Star Wars Land is opening in the same year, the one at WDW is not scheduled to open until some 2-3 months or more after Anaheim

Some cast members are saying toy story land will be behind toy story mania and Star Wars will be between muppets and toy story mania :)

That's correct. You can't see any of Toy Story Land from Pizzerizzo. It'll be behind all the buildings Tim is showing in that shot. The current Pixar Place will become backstage. Star Wars and Toy Story will create one long loop from Muppets, around behind Midway Mania, then come out near One Man's Dream. The "vertical construction" seen from Pizzerizzo is either part of Star Wars or part of the visual transition berm from Muppets to Star Wars.
