Ever wondered why you look better when wearing certain colours or why you don't look as good in others? Well, it may be because you don't know your skin undertone or your seasonal colour palette. This video will hopefully help you figure out what both of those are, through seasonal colour analysis, which will then help you find what colours should look best on you! Ultimately, just wear what you like and feel comfortable in :) Also, people have different takes and opinions when it comes to seasonal colour analysis, so if the result you get here is different from one you've gotten before (or will get), that's why. As well as categorising celebrities into different seasonal colours as well. #seasonalcoloranalysis #personalcolor #fashion #12seasonalcolours #seasonalcolouranalysis

Really appreciate the effort that was put into this video! Btw I am a dark winter ❄️ I have always looked better in dark colors compared to lighter/muted colors but I get compliments when wearing white! Over the years my wardrobe mainly consists of black, navy blue and grey clothes 😅 I guess I have always known what are my best colors
@archive_22

Thank you; that means a lot :) Yeah, the cooler seasons can often wear pure white as a neutral so it makes sense why you’d get compliments. Haha, I get you on that! Even though I’m not a dark winter, my wardrobe consists of mainly black clothes 😅 whoops!

I appreciate that you added the dominant traits as well. It’s so important bc it’s easy to get hung up on which exact category but the truth is all features don’t hold equal weight. As a dark autumn I do lean warm I do lean high contrast but I look great in a lot of cool colors and muted colors, as long as they are deeper in value

Yes, I wanted to include it, but I wish I had explained it a bit better at the time 😅 Yeah, exactly! You can mess around with your secondary and tertiary traits (adjacent colour palettes).

I have neutral/warm undertone, medium chroma and medium value lol ! There is no way to find a dominate trait in me. I just know that I'm an Autumn because of the help of the tik tok filters but I'm not deep enough to be dark autumn, not warm enough to be true autumn and not muted enough to be soft autumn. It's really not easy !
@archive_22

Hmm, I would say put a photo of you with different colour backgrounds and switch between them. For example, do an orange vs pink (or gold vs silver) comparison to check your hue. Then a dark shade of green (or any colour you prefer) with a light shade of green to check your value, and then finally a bright green vs a soft green to check your chroma. Look at them all and see which colour or shade makes your skin appear brighter/clearer. That might help you a little bit more. If you’ve already done this, I’m sorry. I have a plan to help people with this in the future, but it’s not ready yet 😅If you need anymore help, don’t be afraid to DM me on whatever social :)

@vananas - aside from the advice of the vlogger, you could also take a pic (no makeup) & in natural lighting, then put the B & W filter on to see your contrast. Check the contrast between your hair, skin & eyes (but usually it's hair & skin). If you have low contrast = soft autumn. Med to high = true, med to high but generally darker overall = dark autumn.

I have very similar coloring to you from what you’re describing! It really is tricky being so in the middle! I’ve been using the “Soft Autumn Deep Palette” and so far I think the colors suit me well! Hi. You made a slight mistake at 17:01. Warm hue, muted = true autumn and warm, bright = true spring, which is the opposite of what's in your slide. Also, the vein test has been debunked/ not used by many color analysts nowadays, since it's inconsistent. Other than that, good vid. A bit too long, though - may not be ideal for many YT viewers. Maybe you can split it up to 3 parts: the quiz, cool seasons & warm seasons. If the cool & warm seasons are still long (more than 20 min), you could divide them into the 4 main seasons. Just a suggestion - so that you'll get more views. Cheers!

@@archive_22 hi! Thnx for the reply. I didn't watch everything (too long) - I'm pretty sure that I know my season already, so I only watched the intro + test and the parts/ seasons which interested me. I think the 1 hour+ vid would be daunting for many. I suggested cutting it into bits to make it more "digestible" and get more views, but ultimately it's your decision. Thnx for the vid. Btw if you're going to upload hair color or makeup tips, I suggest splitting it into the 4 main seasons to make the vids shorter. Four short vids instead of 1 long vid. Good luck.

@@kitty_s23456 No problem! Any helpful feedback is great because it helps me improve my videos! Hmm, it’s true that some people don’t like longer videos. I probably won’t do makeup because I have very limited knowledge of that stuff, haha. I’m still undecided on the hair one. It depends if people want it or not, but if I do end up making it, I might split it up.

Interesting that I find my colour palette in bright winter, but I'm naturally dark blonde with fair skin, green eyes and neutral skin (more olive when I tan). All my natural colours are light and washed out. I did used to dye my hair black when I was young and it suited me. Now I'm blonde. Must be the neutral skin tone that messes things up! I've studied art, so those are definitely my colours. Always high chroma!

Thank you so much! I’m glad my video could help even a tiny bit! I would suggest trying to use a photo of you (with no makeup and in natural lighting) and putting the photo against a dark green (or any colour of your choice) and comparing it to a muted green background. Try to look at how the colour changes your appearance. You can try with multiple colours as long as you are comparing a dark colour with a muted colour. If the dark colours look better, you are more likely to be a Dark Winter. If the muted colours look better, then you are more likely to be a Soft Summer. I’m actually going to be doing a video explaining this technique very soon, but I hope this information can help you out!

What if my dominant trait is bright chroma and my secondary is dark value? I don’t see that combination listed at 17:51
@archive_22
@archive_22 Год назад
If your dominant trait is bright, you will either be Bright Spring or Bright Winter. The next thing you realistically want to work out is if you look better in warmer (spring) or cooler (winter) colours. Try putting a warm green vs a cool green background next to a picture of yourself (preferably use clothes if you have them) and see which one you look better with. After you work that out, you can gravitate towards the darker colours within that specific colour palette. I hope this helps, but if not, don’t be afraid to message me on one of my socials listed in the description :)

Does the "opposite seasonal colour palette" mean you can borrow from them? So if you are bright spring you could borrow from soft autumn?
@archive_22
@archive_22 Год назад
Technically no. The colours you can borrow from are the adjacent ones, so if you’re a bright spring, you can also use colours from bright winter & true spring. You can obviously still wear colours from soft autumn, especially if your hue (warm tone) is your second dominant trait, but because the colours are softer/muted, they may not give you enough contrast (not enough definition). Sorry if I didn’t explain this well 😅

@archive_22

If you know for certain that you are a cool hue, then hue might actually be your dominant over the chroma (because you said you’re medium), so you might actually either be a true summer or winter, but just in case: I said this under another comment with a similar question, but try using a photo of you (with no makeup & in natural lighting) on top of different colour backgrounds and swap between them to see the difference in your appearance. I’d recommend putting a photo of you (no makeup & natural lighting) on top of an orange background and compare it with a pink background to see which colour makes your skin appear brighter/clearer. If the orange one looks better, you’re a bright spring. If the pink looks better, then you’re a bright winter. If you can’t tell with those colours, try comparing a warmer green (more yellow added) with a cooler green (more blue added). If the warm one looks better, you’re a bright spring.
