Just subscribed last night, as a n enthusiastic landscape photographer I love long exposures but always struggle with movement in trees. I know you have done videos on exposure blending but any chance of one specifically on how you did the exposure blend in this video?

I used to own glass rectangular nd-filters. Not only were they hard to attach to my lenses, they break easily. I prefer screw-on circular filters now. Another thing to bear in mind is that rectangular graudal filters that darken the sky alter the pics and you can't fix it afterwards

Great shots! I ended up getting a 10 stop ND filter after seeing this video. I’m glad I did. I have some amazing shots, but not as good as yours. I was wondering though, do you keep a UV filter on your lenses for protection against any damage to the actual lens?

and if you can't afford the $140/filter... just setup, shoot as slow as possible and blast off about 50 shots, taken into PS as layers stack aligned and then find the median for them - save on a new layer and file....

hi Mark, i tried to take a shot of the sky at night using my canon200d but it said no!!! iso16000, 25", f22 with a pancake lens where am i going wrong? cheers, dean

I am amateur, and I was so happy today going to take my first long exposure photo. I had the golden hour calculated and a sweet spot on a harbour. Then I set my camera on bulb mode and my photos are totally burnt. I set my aperture to 22 and the ISO to 50 and my photos are totally white. And I start thinking... I'm missing something in my exposure theory... Of course my photos turned burnt but I saw photos with long exposure during daylight... How is that??? ..... And I see this video and I'm like... Oh... FILTERS 😂😂 anyway, I'm buying one right now haha. Such a pity, the light was gorgeous

Taking the images.....easy peasy, but anything on a computer is light years beyond my comprehension. I don’t even own any edit program. I signed up for a n introduction to computer class for senior citizens but the instructor threw me out on the first class because I kept interrupting him with too many questions. I very much miss my Kodachrome days..... that I was comfortable with but all this computer stuff is impossible.

I have never used an ND filter. I really liked how you had both a shot with and a shot without. This gives us a look to see what the filter can help accomplish.

A minute in, you have lost me. I am not clear in my mind what you think Fine Art Photography is, and you didn't define it. I don't think your filters will make a scrape of difference for 90% of my landscape photography. I photograph a lot of stuff that's not moving.

I have a nd 7 filter, ISO at 200 and even at 1 sec shutter my pics are over exposed?

Nice tips. Any chance you can do a video on blending the first image you showed, took two images, fast ss, and slow ss. You stated that you need the faster ss as the slow ss image would show trees moving in the background. Thanks

I did calculate like T=t x 2^ND for t=1/50 Sec and ND=10 than T=20 Sec but bear in mind if moving Clouds in the sky, sometimes pictures are not coming up very good.

Amazing location. Will def check out your full-length vid from Scotland. Was shocked to see that tiny travel pod, especially with the fully extended center column. All the things you shouldn't do when a "sturdy support" is required. But I can't argue with your results. As for me, a Series 2 Gitzo CF is my minimum pod.

Started shooting long exposure's and it's the best way to enjoy the wilderness while still bringing home something worth printing everytime.
