In this video you can see how I managed to go around the factory set start temperature of air conditioner on Volkswagen e-up (It should be the same with Seat Mii electric or Skoda Citigo iv). The car always starts at 22C and does not remember what was the previous set temperature. I managed to program the car using the OBDeleven device (obdeleven.com/) which cost 40 EUR for the device itself and 25 EUR for the PRO update (you need that in order to program the car).
If you have any questions? Comment below or ask in our Facebook Group: / eup.citigo.mii
You can buy #OBDeleven here: obdeleven.com?aff=43

It stoped working for me after last SW update by the dealer. (the one that should prevent 12V battery discharging, its rolling out now). Regardless if i set 0 or 1 with obd11 it always returns to 22degrees. Any solution? Maybe they moved this parameter to other adaptation channel?

Hi really enjoying the videos. Can you tell me if the e up has a speed limiter and cruise control. 🤓👍🏻
@tedonash2681
@tedonash2681 4 года назад
Hi Ian, yes there is a speed limit. On normal mode the speed limit is 130 km/h and on Eco+ mode it is 95 km/h. There is also cruise control that is included in the standard equipment of the car.

To be honest I have just started to explore this device. I have it for 2 days now and what I figured out is how to set the temperature of AC how to auto lock, unlock the car, how to turn on/off the horn sound when locking, unlocking, tuning some timing properties etc. I didn't spend a lot of time with this device as I am working and have a small kid at home. I hope I will have some time to spend with this device on the weekend and whatever I find I will make sure to make video about it.

thanks for your video. I tried it on my car right away and it worked. Well, three weeks later, I have the same problem I had in the beginning. Although the value in channel 6 is still zero, it switches back to 22 degrees and air conditioning. You know what that could be?

Do you think it will be possible to replace the external sound of the new e-up?
@tedonash2681
@tedonash2681 4 года назад
I think so using the OBDeleven or some other OBD2 tools. I think this sound is optional at least in mine region. I am expecting my new e-up to arrive in a couple of weeks so I will test when it is here and will let you know.

On my Seat Mii it only charges at 3.6kW when on a 7kW charger. I took your advice and bought OBD device and I notice in the battery charging app the charge rate is 16A. I can change this to 32A but I’m worried about warrenty before trying it. What do you think?
@tedonash2681
@tedonash2681 3 года назад
I saw this option on my e-up 2019 but to be honest I was afraid to set it to 32A. I am not sure is the onboard charger is software limited or hardware. In case it is hardware and change the limitation on software level you can blow the car. The way I will attach this problem is to buy a 7.2 kw charger which can increase the charge gradually. Then set the car to 32A and start increasing the charger currently on small steps to see if the car will do something.

I would like to see a video explaining how to increase the running time of the aircon when it has been activated from the "We Connect" app while the car is parked and turned off. Now the aircon turns off after approximately 30 minutes.
@tedonash2681
@tedonash2681 3 года назад
I was looking for that but unfortunately i haven't find a way. Why don't you just activate it 30 minutes before departure? Or a workaround would be a schedulers that overlap each other where the AC is turned on.
@boolesen4123
@boolesen4123 3 года назад
@@tedonash2681 Thank you for the answer Tedo, I was thinking about the schedule as well. It would solve the problem but is more laborious than just turning on and off the aircon. I was thinking about reversing my e-up into my teepee tent with the rear door open and half the car sticking out. That way heating the tent and avoiding a smokey fire.

FOR ALL CENTRAL EUROPEANS: OBD eleven take what they can get from you based on your nationality The pro version here is about 99€ as a kit ... so nothing llike 40€ + 25€ = 65€ ... And they do not allow you to transfer the licence. The websites automatically detects your location and then limits your offer to your country. Bulgaria must hat a 35€ discount - compared to central europe.

I didn't find this info in the OBDeleven. But there is quite a lot of info there that I can accurately measure the current capacity. The one way I found is to discharge the car to 0% battery state of charge, then to record total kW that are entered into the car, then fully charge it and remove the current value of kW total energy charged into the car from the recorded value. The way I found that you can measure the battery capacity without any device is : 1. Fully charge the car and drive the car until you have less than ~1/4 left on the fuel gauge 2. Either using car-net, VCDS, OBDeleven, Carista, other OBD dongle/software or by estimating from the fuel gauge, determine the percent State of Charge (SOC). Each tick mark on the fuel gauge is equal to 6.25% SOC. 3. Record the average efficiency and miles covered to reach your current SOC. 4. Usable capacity = miles covered/efficiency (miles/kWh)/(1-%SOC). For example you went 110 km and you have left 25% o the battery. The average efficiency is 11 kW/h so you have (110/11)/(1-0.25) = 13.3 kW of actual energy you have in the car.
