My EA6100P manual merely states electronic ignition and max engine speed with bar and chain = 13,800. Idunno if limited or not; sounded limited in the cut. Claims best torque/power made at 7K/10K. Thanks for the step at a time vids.
Sometimes trying to quantify changes is a pain in the ass. Often i cant determine if it is my inconsistency as an operator or an actual change in the machine.
Bouncing of the rev limiter has me wondering about something that I was considering just recently. What is the limiting factor in running at higher revs. In simplistic terms the power is relatively linear so the power at 10k rpm will be double that at 5k. That Makita was rev limited to 13.5k and had x hp. If it was capable of spinning to 20k then it should produce 1.5x hp. Whatever the limiting factor/s are then it would be nice to have the extra rpm available as a cheap means to get the extra hp. There's motorbikes that spun out to 15-18k rpm and the little 2 stroke nitro rc motors have some that go out to 30k rpm.
