FinEst Link: Helsinki-Tallinn Transport Link, Feasibility Study 

The two-year FinEst Link Project examined the economic and technical feasibility, impacts and costs of a railway tunnel between Helsinki and Tallinn. The results of the feasibility study, published in February 2018, are presented in the video.
The FinEst Link Project was led by Helsinki-Uusimaa Regional Council in partnership with the Cities of Helsinki and Tallinn, Union of Harju County Municipalities, Finnish Transport Agency and the Estonian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications. The project received co-funding from the EU’s Interreg Central Baltic programme.

Kaksivuotisessa FinEst Link -projektissa selvitettiin Helsinki-Tallinna-tunnelin rakentamismahdollisuuksia teknisestä, taloudellisesta ja kilpailukyvyn näkökulmasta. Video esittelee projektin tulokset.
Uudenmaan liiton johdolla tehty selvitys valmistui helmikuussa 2018. Kumppaneina hankkeessa olivat Helsingin ja Tallinnan kaupungit, Viron liikenneministeriö ja Suomen liikennevirasto sekä Harjun kuntien liitto. Projekti sai rahoitusta Interreg Central Baltic -ohjelmasta.
