Finger Coiling VS Finger Rolling: Add more definition to your natural curls

As far as curl direction, if you simply scrunch your hair to initiate your curls, you’ll be able to see which direction they start to flow (either spiraling toward your face, or away from it). From there, when I use rolling/coiling methods I make sure to rotate my finger in the proper direction for each specific curl chunk. Deciding on a haircut can be tricky with curls, especially because there are many different textures and they each move and lay differently. But I often find that a more “rounded” cut is flattering. So face framing and adding layers can create a curvature along the bottom of the cut, giving it a round shape. It will add more movement, and bring life to curls by removing some of the excess weight (if it’s normally all one length with less dimension). I hope this helps a little!

Hello, Thank You! If you want this same exact cut, I would just ask for a “round” shape. Go with chin length (or longer, if you prefer). Ask for face framing and layers. The length (or shortness) of the layers and bangs just depend on your comfort level… and of course what you and your stylist decide would be most compatible with the shape of your facial features and your specific hair type (thin/thick, straight/wavy/curly/coily, porous, etc.)

@@bobbemundt3478 I air dry most of the time, too. Styling + Diffusing can feel like an eternity. But for the weeks I want to see a bit more definition/seal/volume, I’ll spend some time on it.
