First it was South Africa that came with 8 of thier players playing for one club that plays in their local league. 4 from another club the rest selected from their local league. Any Nigerian team about to play a Beninoise MUST be ready for a game of solid football. Which of our clubs are the "big clubs" in a league where one person can win the league one season and finish mid-table the next? How many of our current clubs are consistently challenging the top of our league? The problem with our league is that the teams are not quality teams, none of our teams are strong enough to match the top teams in South Africa. Which of our teams can match the power of, say, Mamelodi Sundowns for instance? Our league is a joke and needs to be improved upon with quality coaching and solid youth competitions to hone new talent amongst many other things like improved data analytics and medical care of players. Until then, Nigeria has no reason to fill our team with league players, especially as the ones we do call can't even break through the current side. Edit: And to make my point, our league leaders Enugu Rangers lost 13 times in the league and still won!? 13 times!?
