One of our favorite ways to finish the edges of a weaving project is with a process called twining. This process isn't always taught, but it's one of our favorites and it's a great way to create a polished edge. This tutorial will show you just how easy twining is.
The Yarn Barn of Kansas is a Lawrence-based store designed for hobby weavers, knitters, spinners and crocheters. We offer a full line of yarns, fibers, looms, spinning wheels, as well as numerous tools, accessories, books, and more. We ship daily to national and international customers. We're also conveniently located in the middle of downtown Lawrence, one mile from I-70 and 14 blocks from K-10 Highway. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1-4 p.m. Sunday.

Great technique especially if you forget to leave extra for hemstitching.

This looks like it makes a very neat edge but we need a video in how to do this at the beginning of weaving your project.

Excellent point. Until we get that done, here's an explainer: You work twining at the beginning of the piece in the exact same way as shown in the video. You would simply twine after the header and before your first pick. You can also twine one or more rows within the weaving for interesting texture. Simply put down the shuttle, work the twining, and then resume weaving as normal.

How would you work this at the beginning. So you woul have the same finish on either end?
