I'd have been tempted to just tape and joint rather than skim but it is a great finish. Good job as usual. Still trying to get my finance director to sign off my garden room build...

It could be a workshop, home gym, garden room, home office or somewhere to run a business from. I'd say it would be a great way to add value to a property and a great way to learn alot of DIY along the way. 👍

You also missed off the cost of the plasterer - I appreciate everything else can be done with the "help of a mate" i.e cutting wood and digging/filling the base, but the plastering is a skilled trade that "normal" people would have to pay for.

That speedskim is too narrow for a pro plasterer - I think that's the smallest one they do (looks about 2 foot? 24 inches, I have a 22 inch skimming trowel). Either way, it's not much bigger than a normal sized trowel. Try a 3-4 foot one, you'd have that ceiling flattened in a few passes end to end.

Thoroughly enjoyed watching this series... Have a slightly green envy look at the moment to be honest! I wish I had the space to build something, smaller admittedly, but this is absolutely wonderful! Would you have considered any sort of alternative to plastering the interior? Some form of cladding or wood lining maybe? Just curious. 🙂

Awesome stuff, would you be able to tell us about the regulation side of things if it isn't already in a video? Like building control and an EIC for the electrics (did your friend certify your electrical work?). As far as I'm aware you need building control approval if it's close to the border which yours is. Thinking of doing something similar and pretty confident with the actual work but confused on the admin stuff. Thanks!

Brilliant build, remember watching the laying of the concrete base. Will have to catch up on the rest of the series. Im sure ill be tempted to have a go myself also. Meanwhile, please can you advise if a building this size needs planning permission? I notice also the building is close to the boundary on the left side, how close are we allowed to build?
