I loved Divine Rivals and was a bit disappointed in ruthless vows because there wasn’t as much romance. I still really enjoyed it though. I love Rebecca Ross and her beautiful writing.
I'm not sure if you put books from your tbr onto your main shelves when you're done but I think it would be really satisfying to watch you find a place for them on your shelves when you're done esp when you can move a whole series :)
Ruthless Vows was a 5 star for me, but I can also totally understand the low reviews. I completely agree with you that’s it’s different based on what you’re expecting and looking for from the books and reading is so personal. I don’t get mad when people rate a book that I love low because that’s the fun of reading…hearing everyone’s perspective!
if you loved the poetic love story in divine rivals, you would love The Unmaking of June Farrow. That book lives rent free in my head. there's not a day that goes by im not recommending it to someone. (Its also way faster paced than divine rivals) You will not be sorry, June Farrow changed my life for real
Imma be real. I don’t read romance books. So Ruthless Vows… you honestly sold that for me. I don’t really care too much for fantasy when it focuses more on the romance. So honestly the second book sounds right up my alley lol.
Ruthless vows was such a drag for me. It took me so long to finish the book, which is crazy cause I read the first book in a day. I truly think that this serie could have been a stand alone.
I think I'm one of the few people who thought Ruthless vows was better than Divine Rivals. I loved how we got more of the fantasy, and just everything with the war was so interesting. It was my first five star read of the year, which I hadn't had a five star read since I think last September
How so? No specific spoilers please! But I hate being in book slumps and I have these on my TBR.. Is it just heartbreaking in terms of a romance, do a lot of characters die, etc?
Your reaction to bloodmarked it so relatable. I LOVE that book so so much purely for how the love triangle & sel’s storyline made me feel. If you want to feel something similar but complete though, you have to read the Infernal Devices trilogy by Cassandra Clare! You won’t regret it ❤
I feel like for Bloodmarked the two main enemies were the Order. Then her personal battle was the demon who had “bloodmarked” her maternal line. Also the ending, I had no words… Loved the video!
girlie I just finished A Court of Mist and Fury yesterday and I was influenced to read this series because of you. why would you do this to my heart ????
Ruthless Vows was a 2 for me as well... And I love how we all have such different reading tastes just like you pointed out. This video definitely inspires me to finish off some of my own series!
I literally LOVE Carissa Broadbent--she's an autobuy author for me for sure. I have no idea why I don't see more about her stuff, she has had no misses for me so far!
I love the Daughter of No Worlds trilogy, definitely feel like it doesn’t get the love it deserves in the book community. So glad you enjoyed the last book ❤️
Yesss. Divine rivals really disappointed me. I still haven’t finished it cause I DONT CARE ABOUT THE WAR. I just needed scenes between iris and Roman. I feel robbed.
I'm late watching this video (sorry), but you weren't alone with Ruthless Vows. I DNF'd after Divine Rivals was a 5 ⭐ book for me. Your feelings are so valid.
Our opinions on Ruthless Vows is so different! To me it was suchhh a perfect follow up from DR. I gave both books 5 stars. I loved that we got more elements of the world/story and I really loved watching to see whether or not Roman and Iris would be able to get to each other in the end, because everyone who got it early said it was a sad ending so I thought he was gonna die but it was a happy ending? I found both books so fast paced so its interesting hearing differing thoughts on it! No judgement though, we all have different opinions, just surprised me!
DES PLEASE PLEASE READ THE INFERNAL DEVICES BY CASSANDRA CLARE i know you should technically read city of ashes and glass before but i think you should just start TID. ITS JUST SO GOOD and nobody talks about it and i need you to hype it up because it’s my favorite trilogy of all time! the characters, the dialogue, the romances it’s just everythingggg
I'm proud of you for attacking the physical TBR. You may have already made a video like this, but I would love to see a video where you pick your least rated book from your physical tbr and the highest rated book from your physical tbr. Someone else said read til you find a 5 star, but make it so it has to be from your physical tbr.
This vid was sm fun and inspired me to get to the series I haven’t finished❤ sorry ruthless vows was dissapointing, I’m cr it and I feel the same as you:/
omg!! 😱 😅🤦🏼♀️thats so funny cause right now i’m currently reading something that is way too character heavy but I wanted more of the plot like way more.
I am so scared to read ruthless vows because I needed so much days to read divine rivals and I really liked the romance and the letters in the first book but not really all the stuff with the gods because it confused me😅
I have glasses from Pair Eyewear and the only thing I dislike about them are the sunglasses. In certain light they will reflect from the front and the back so I can see my eyes and part of the background behind me reflected in the glasses making it hard to see. That’s the only thing that drives me insane. Otherwise the top frames are really cute and I love my pink base frames.
I was so excited about ruthless vows but it was dragging, I also couldnt finish it and it took ages. I gave this one likd 2.75 (3 for me is neutral rating, no thoughts no feelings, but unfortunately it fell for me on the more negative side)
Ooh that would bother me too if you’re only getting crumbs of the romance 😢 I wish authors would focus more on the romance in general so it’s good for me to know that Divine Rivals focuses on it a lot. I’m reading Serpent & The Wings of Night right now and I’m loving the romance element and how it sometimes has really poetic lines ❤
I was trying to buddy read Ruthless Vows and both me and my friend were STRUGGLING to get through it…. I had to switch to audiobook and my friend DNFd 😂
Have you ever read "House of night" series by P.C. Cast? It is ya, it was my favorite when i was younger but i just stumbled upon it again and i can't wait to reread it! I'm 35 now, but still excited for it 😁😁 vampires, dark academia, powers, romance... it has it all, HIGHLY recommend!!
