PLEASE NOTE: This is not a tech channel, but simply a show-and-tell. It is not designed to give advice and support on vacuum tube amplifiers but to show what I get up to each week in the workshop.
I deliberately keep tech talk to a minimum, or at least to a point where it’s understandable to the casual viewer. There are other channels more suited to that level of detail.
I do not do reviews, either paid or unpaid. My opinions are entirely my own and do not represent those of others.

Glad you managed to clear the bad mood Chris ! - I used to run my own small business & people dont understand that you are 'all things, all the time' and that if you're not working, your not earning ! - it is genuinely tough so well done - Make sure you invest in yourself, ie, you'd be surprised what happens if actually pay someone to come in say 1 day a week to actually do a key function ie business manager or ordering or sales. Its the only way to make the business grow long term.

Great video as always, and love the honesty about how frustrating running a small business can be at times. Was wondering if you could talk about standby switches in the next q&a session. I’m new to owning an amp and was hoping you could talk why amps have standby switches and the do’s and don’ts of using them if your amp has one. Thanks in advance.

Very interesting to hear the effect of the attenuator on the Carr Mercury. Looks like a valve amp that could be great for home use.

Very interesting video once again. Many years ago back in the valve eraI worked in a service workshop for a shop that sold electrical goods, televisions and radios . We always kept quite a large stock of popular valves on the shelf, I guess that you do the same thing as many guitar amps use similar vale lineups. Have the embargoes on Russian good’s caused you any problems with the supply of valves? I believe that some valves are sourced there. That Carr attenuation circuit sounds really good much better than many I’ve come across.

As a follow on from the spectrum analyser it would be really good to show what happens to the tone in a Dumble type amp when the PI balance pot is adjusted to minimise 2nd order harmonics. You'd need to get Anysley/Jon Cordy? in for that one as you'd want to compare it with a blind setting done just with a good pair of ears.

To compare a "real" Fender to a Tonemaster, you wouldn't need to have them both in the shop at the same time. When you get the next Deluxe, Vibrolux, Twin, etc. in the shop, put it on the spectrum analyzer and note the positions of the volume and tone knobs on the amp, and record a video. Then make an announcement on a future video that you are looking for one of your local viewers to bring in a comparable Tonemaster for analysis.

Loop 10 sounded like it had some subtle phase shift going on, possibly mic position? Having heard that particular loop a couple of times live, I feel qualified to make that judgement. I appreciated the fact you managed to explain the woes of running a small business without breaking it all down in a granular manner. Good video 😊

The phase-shift was caused by the visco-elastic layer of ions formed during the generation of the 11th harmonic AKA The Barleycorn Granulation
