On the 28th of July, I took a trip to Ngong where Grace's house was undergoing some finishing works. Here's what I discovered. -The painters were applying Crown's Ruff n Tuff Wall Master paint on the exterior walls. -The colour of the house's façade is buttermilk -The electricians were installing the sockets, lighting fixtures and doing some wiring -The kitchen countertops were customized from the remaining precast concrete panels -Gypsum ceiling and cornices were installed in all the rooms of the house. FINISHING COST: KSH 1.8M (USD 12.7K) CONTACTS Main Contractor: Eng. Ian Kiptoo +254 727 644782 Panels Supplier: Sammy Wambua (Kingdom Precast Solutions) +254 714 259226 WATCH THE CONSTRUCTION UPDATE HERE: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6sdHE06muhM.html
Wow! Things are already looking all beautiful and it's not yet done! Thanks so much Nick we appreciate your effort and passion for affordable housing! I can't wait to see the entire finished product.
Bro I know this works in Europe and seeing and following your videos am now convinced... now I can see my house coming up with these panels... am in construction and interior and exterior and concrete
Thank you Nick for this update. I watched the initial video and the approximated total cost was 3.5 million inclusive of finishing. I presume 1.7m for the structure and 1.8 m for finishing costs. Wondering if the cost is still the same, can't wait to see the final product.
A 3m panel costs ksh 1400/sqm and 200mm thick stone blocks cost ksh 1800/sqm. The advantage with panels is they're already plastered, unlike stone blocks, where it's an additional cost
Hi Nick ...Gratuliere herzlichst zu dem tollen Video 🤝...eine Frage habe ich? Wie wurden die Gibsplatten an die Decke gemacht??? Oben? Dankeschön und viel Erfolg weiterhin 😊
It's not a flat roof roof but a hidden butterfly design roof. There is a gutter in the middle deep enough to direct rainwater from the roof to the drainage system below
I doubt if this house will still have these good looks 50 years from now, unlike the quarry stone houses which require little to no maintenances, this particular one will require regular interval maintenances over a long period of time. I stand to be proven wrong
how do you know it will require regular interval maintenance.the chinese build Nairobi express with concrete blocks or did you see masons with ndarugo stones?
Precast buildings are more sustainable and long lasted than the block stone houses. I know a compound built in 1970s and still concrete up to now while other surrounding buildings built 20 years ago look ugly and some of them statrted leaking water in toilets and cracks on walls and each time the owners do maintenances while precast compound only do outside painting after somewhile
