Isokyrö!!! I live there man! Thats my pub, i mean i established that pub in 2015. Omg😂 i've been watching your videos a lot. And now Isokyrö! Booooooom!
Fun game and you again did it very well! On some round you were again wondering about the autumn phase here. Today the maximum temperature here in Espoo was like +13°C/+55°F. It was a beautiful autumn day without any clouds on the sky. On the 4th round there was an advanced Finland clue available. There are only two places having street signs white-on-blue. The city of Seinäjoki and the town of Isokyrö. All others have black-on-white or (rare) white-on-black. Lokaltapiola/Lähitapiola on the last round is just an insurance company having offices around the country. I got 25k but in my standards for myself it was a bad time for a speedrun. I blame beer for it haha! I have been in all of those towns/cities, but not sure if I have been in those exact locations.
First time seeing Kimito on Geoguessr, been there many times since half of my relatives are from there. The temperature was perfect, it's 7 degrees here now. It was below zero two nights this week.
I'm from Tornio and can confirm we go to IKEA once a month and only speak finnish there too 😅 most employees in Haparanda at least try speaking finnish. From what I heard getting the IKEA there only happened because someone from the area was good friends with the founder of IKEA.
German pretzel is unknown in Finland, but we have Vyborg pretzel, sweet spicy bun. Available at market square in market days (varies by town) in towns from Lappeenranta to Lahti. Coming from old Finnish Vyborg, it is Eastern Finland special.
Närpes (Närpiö) is actually an interesting place. It's a tiny town, but according to Wikipedia, it produces 60% of the tomatoes and 35% of the cucumbers sold in Finland. So, all folks who eat their vegetables recognise the name of the town, assuming they pay attention while doing grocery shopping.
Also Korsnäs is very interesting. At least in the past it was the most Swedish speaking municipality in the World. Quite funny that it is in Finland, not Sweden :)
It's been about 10C and mostly cloudy here over the weekend. @10:00 JättiTuplaJuustoPekoni = Giant Double Cheese Bacon @11:02 Pori is 10th largest city in Finland by population with about 83k people. @19:29 LokalTapiola or LähiTapiola in Finnish is an insurance company.
Jyväskylä is actually pronounced more like you-wes-killah :) Finnish is easy to pronounce in general, since each alphabet is always pronounced the same way. Like "Jyväskylä" is pronounced "J-y-v-ä-s-k-y-l-ä". And emphasis is always on the first syllable. "All over the map" is pronounced "Ool ouvö tö mäp".
Finland actually has most clowdy days per year of any country in the world. 5 years ago it rained 5 months straight every day here In Pori. From mid-september to mid-febuary.
Tornio: Finnish has traditionally been the dominant language in the area on both sides of the Torne River (and also around the whole modern border between Finland and Sweden). After Sweden lost Finland to Russia in 1809, Sweden started to make the west side more Swedish in language. The Swedish language arrived to coastal areas in the south and west of Finland starting in the 13th century, perhaps, and modern Swedish-speaking Finns have those Swedes in their ancestors. ALSO! Be careful with borders on Google maps!!!!! But in this case the border seems to be accurate enough, and around Finland in general. In my opinion, Hesburger products are not worth eating. The whole municipality of Pori has 83,000 inhabitants, and the central areas 63,000.
Quite a few go to sauna on Saturday. It's the main sauna day of the week. Final games of the Finnish football leagues are at hand. HJK from Helsinki already won the women's league and men's will be won by either Ilves from Tampere or Kups from Kuopio. Ice hockey league has started and basketball league just started. Enes Kanter Freedom dropped by. The Finnish Turkic community had invited him over. He spoke against dictatorships and also told that he doesn't like all the things Lauri Markkanen has done against him on the basketball court, but he does respect Lauri for doing his conscription in Finland. If you are a Sting fan, he will be performing at the Pori Jazz Festival next summer. If you do drop by, avoid those R-kiosk hotdogs. The festival has been held since 1966 and it has gained a good reputation among the artists: "B.B. King - "Thrill Is Gone" Live in Pori Jazz 1995" and "James Brown - Funky Good Time, Live Pori Jazz 1995".
Since you asked, I took my son to basketball practice on Saturday morning (he's only turning 4 so it's more obstacle courses and stuff like that instead of just basketball though...)
My hometown of Pori. Population about 75.000. Just came home with my little Honda monkey 125 motorbike from riding there. Was sunny and +12. I ride my monkey. That is what I do.
