Awesome! I think the best parties were probably 15 minutes after the win in the fountains :D I've got quite good memories of the fountain in the market square of Helsinki from 2011!
Wow some sour people in the comments! Nothing wrong with a celebration, it's not like these things happen all the time, I'm sure you can survive this if you can live with Vappu and other annual parties. Great video, really interesting to see the celebrations from the pov of someone not Finnish! Hope you had a great time!
From 1995 to 2011 - 16 yrs. From 2011 to 2019 - 8 yrs. - So, the next victory is obviously in 2023 - after 4 yrs, according to the pattern :) Then 2025 - after which we are unstoppable, and then they have to arrange more than one tournament after 2026 :) But I don't mind if they win next year. Just a few guys can get their boxers dry on time to swim again in the fountain. Uhm, it's a small sacrifice.
I didn't think we would win Sweden, didn't think we would win Russia, didn't think we would win Canada. Finland did win!!! Incredible, fantastic!!! Was there a big party for the Croatian football team last year in Croatia? I know they didn't win, but making it to the final was every bit as big thing as it was for Finland to win this year in icehockey. Pasi
Yeeees!! There was a huge party and part of my huge happiness about Finnish celebration is because I missed the Croatian one. It was insane. Here's the link to the Croatian celebration. You have to see it: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wN0DiBbHKF0.html
It's not just the hockey champions who are called the Lions. It's the hockey national team in general - they're called that very year, and the junior too, are well, Junior Lions, or Young Lions
I was there too. Wish to have met you and your bf and friends. Main thing is that we were there to celebrate something that's not going to happen every year, so I'm happy and proud of our Finnish Lions 😊
@@TootsieBlabber Oh, sure Ana. You're right. Finland might win 😊 Of course I will say Hi to you if we ever meet. Perhaps even find a place to have a cup of coffee or other refreshments.
@@Latexi_LMX Well, can't really blame him for saying what we all think.. i mean, who wouldn't want to get a gorgeous slavic girl's like Ana's number x)
In hindsight i kinda wish that Canada would have won. Its so annoying and booring to watch news and media cause its all about that, probably the whole year.. Mörkö this mörkö that blaablaa..
Ottaen huomioon että a) jääkiekon maailman mestaruudesta on kamppailtu vuodesta 1920 yhteensä 83 kertaa b) käytännössä potentiaalisia voittajakandidaatteja on ollut ~8 kpl c) voitto on tullut kotiin vasta 3 (kolme) kertaa - voisin todeta, että Suomi on pelannut paskasti. Considering that a) 83 times the world championship of ice hockey has been struggled since 1920 b) in practice there have been ~ 8 potential winning candidates c) the victory has come home only 3 (three) times - I could say that Finland has played shitty.
Oot ilmeisesti aika pihalla sitten jääkiekosta ja sen taitotasosta Suomessa. Suomi on väkiluvultaan huomattavsti pienin maa, joka on voittanut 3 kertaa mestaruuden. Ainoa Suomea hieman pienempi maa eli Slovakia on voittanut mestaruuden kerran.
I could say the same about Croatia and handball, football and other sports, but who cares about the past! It's all about this moment and the future. :) If you all the time look back you'll never be happy. Let's do one huuuge KIPPIS for Finland!!
Couldn't care less. And it borders ultra-nationalism, too. There's so much important matters people should care about instead of stupid sport fanatism. But I guess circus to the people was always a good idea. Look there! Don't look here.
IMHO sports went wrong when it became professional. It was resisted stronglly early days, too. Amateur sports is okay, whet you do for fun and fit. The rest... it's sick and has perverted values.
