Well. I think it is easy for me because I didn't get them all at once. So I already knew how I was going to care for the ones I had; and each time I added a new pet, I just added their cleanings and feedings into the schedule. As for handling, it isn't really too hard for me to handle them. I usually 'hang out' in my pet room for about 45minutes a day, checking up on everyone, giving some treats, and handling most of the pets.
Thank you for clarifying it comes with everything needed. I hope it fits on a ten gal hex. I will then hope to put it with bettas and see if I can incorporate a seperate breeder box I can put them into that has tiny slits in the bottom for holes the box with the pregnant fish would float in the ten gallon. I still need plants and lights.
Yes, I will try to soon, don't worry. I sometimes just make videos as I do things, like when I added on this refugium. But I do plan to put up a snake feeding video soon(in next 24 hours) and also other animal videos throughout the week.
as best as they could be treated considering they are held captive. fyi - i also own pets but they are cats and they choose to be with me. they always come back after they go outside
Great vid! Love it and I was just wondering if you could just go over how you set up your sump and what you used to make it work. Like equipment wise and procedures. Thanks
The light is horrible now. I have some newer videos of other light options that are way better. It was semi brite when I got it, but now it is dull and barely shines any light. Def don't get/use this light. The refugium works great though.
How do you keep track of all the animals you got? You have a bunch of different species and I was wondering how you are able to handle them all cuz you are obviously doing a good job.
hey Earthling! i bought this finnex hang on fuge with the light and water pump i want to put it inside my stand with my sump the way you did it rather than do it as a hang on up in the tank (ugly). my question is, where do you have the fuge output dripping down into? i only have a 2 chamber sump- one side filter sock and skimmer/media reactors, and the other part is the return pump. I am guessing let the fuge drip into the return pump side? i don't know and hoping you can help me?
Hey Earthling! Would you recommend this refugium for a 40 gallon marine tank with no sump just hanging on the back side of the aquarium? Will it still be effective on it's own?
Refugiums and sumps are different. A sump is a secondary tank that is used to house extra media for beneficial bacteria to grow. You can also put filters, heaters, protein skimmers, etc. in the sump. A refugium is for live algae and plants. These 2 items do very different things for the tank. A sump for the bacteria will help lower ammonia and nitrite, as well as house your heater, protein skimmer, etc.. A refugium with algae and plants will help take nitrate and phosphate out of the water. So, yes it will be effective for it's purpose; however, it will not replace or do anything a sump is made to do.
So after about 6 months how is the light doing? I am going to add a HOB refugium to my 29 gallon mostly just to grow pods and have the first little section blocked off with some cheato. Is the light working for growing the algae? The light is what I am on the fence about because yes, it is LED, but it is only 2 watts total. Just wondering if it is doing the job. I would appreciate your feedback on this because I am going to be adding this very soon. Thanks!
That low/small amount of light is not enough to cause any substantial reactions! ie. utilizing the nitrate from the water. There for the low light you are using is a bottle neck in this process. Cheers.
I wish I could. :( Sadly, I changed my setup a while back and haven't been using this. I believe I gave it to a friend for their tank since I no longer needed it. Sorry I couldn't help. :(
Hi, just sw your vid and have a question, I want to put one of these on my tank but my tank is up against the wall and I only have about 4" of room between the wall and the tank., just wondering how much room do you need in the back of the tank. Thanks!
Hey man, if this where to hang on the side of a tank, how does it hang? Are there suction cups that it fastens to or what? Thanks in advance for the response
Cool! Thanks for the quick reply! I have money for a bigger hang on fuge, should I go with this or go with a bigger fuge? What I mean, does size matter in this circumstance?
JohnsReefTank Yes this will be fine for a 30gallon. I had it on a 55gallon with a 10gallon sump so like 65gallons. 30gallon will be great for this hang on.
