I may have commented this before but I can't restrain myself from saying it again: you are my favourite person on all knitting related channels! Thank you so much for taking the effort and recording all those lovely episodes, dear Jana!
I have started twists and turns, but I wish I had of picked more variegated colours, I'm not particularly liking the high contrast. When you said you're planning a FROGALONG the first thing that came to my mind was we are going to FROG old cast Ons.
You said frogalong, and I honestly thought we were going to make it a party to support each other frogging what needs to be frogged ;-) Love your podcast, always look forward to your next episode.
Thank you for another lovely episode! I was knitting twist and turns while listening. It is slow with all the turning and co/cast offs but it is so exciting at the same time. I try not to second guess my yarn choice, as I stepped out of my comfort zone and went with some brown/ beige instead of a strong palette. More knitting time would be highly appreciated here too😂I took a day off on Friday and after all errands I had one hour of quiet coffee/knitting just by myself. It was luxury! (Yes there was also some nameday cake 🍰 involved….)
Thank you so much for spending an extra time with us this week. It was so enjoyable, as always! When I first heard about the "frog along" I thought we were going to frog one (or more) of our knitting projects together 😂😂😂 Of course making a little frog will definitely be more fun... though frogging can sometimes be very satisfying and freeing too 🙃😊
Hi Janna, lovely to see you. Your nutiden Ranunculus looks super warm and fabulous at the same time! We, fortunately, don't have the low temperatures you get, it is about 10 degrees c here atm, but I worry about people who live in the colder areas and must face this horrendous increase in electricity prices. Stay warm, my friend. Love from Shetland xxx
Thanks so much!!! Enjoyed the chat,,,,So much,,,, Love UR sweater!!!! And UR shawl,,,, I am not doing the Steven shawl,,,,but enjoy following along,,,,, Never have knit an animal,,,, Elaine🏡🏡🏡
I frogged my start on twist and turn, right now. I have to change knitting needles as I took too small and I was not happy with it. How lucky I had good company.
This is my first time watching your show😊 I enjoyed it so much! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful sweaters with us. The lilac color ranunculus is gorgeous. I hope you have a lovely week🍂🍁🦌
Hi Jana, thanks for another great podcast. I'm another one who thought that your 'frog-along' idea meant frogging some knitting! Perhaps while listening to Paul McCartney's 'Frog Chorus (We All Stand Together)'. Or perhaps that's just me, showing my age! Love from Scotland.
Hi! i’m in for a frog-along. I have had 3 frog patterns in my ravelry queue since the summer (by jessica goddarg, claire garland and alan dart), but i never got around to kniting any of them.
Hello sweetheart. So glad to see you again. Sorry didn't get to see your "live" as a live but I watched it all as soon as I could. Your sweater looks so snug and warm and I am sure you will need it. The shawl is very exciting and I am watching with a view to doing my first one next year. Wool leggings can look as 'different ' as they can be, but so fun. They will keep you cosy. Stay safe and warm. Love to all from Lynne 💖 xxx
I have knitted the frog by claire garland. It only took one evening. A very very quick knit. I am also taking part in the Stephen west MKAL. So fun.....
Frog-a-long? Yes, please! I am thoroughly enjoying the #westknitsmkal2022 as well. I can't wait to get to the end of this clue to see the braid. Happy Sunday and have a wonderful week, Jana!
Yes, please to the Frog-a-long! (and I'm also pulling yarn for the marled leggings, lol) Thanks for the surprise episode, Jana - it was the perfect start to my Sunday.
I started too but have been ill and can’t concentrate so I am going very slow. Fog brain. Like you I went to the end of clue and wow his brain is warped yet great. It is my first so am very excited. I do not know anyone else doing it in person so am loving the podcasts and vlogtobers. My new knitting friend from all over the world 🌍💕😻
Lovely episode as usual. I’m not doing the MKAL. I had already decided I wouldn’t and when I saw the caterpillars I was even more convinced it is not for me. I don’t do fiddly stuff.
I love your podcast! It's also extra fun watch your videos in these times becouse I have almost same set of yarns than you in the Stephens Wests Mkal. I bought the set from Lankakaappi with pink (Bubblegum) and these same greys. And I have to say I'm loving my yarns and also the MKAL!
I just love watching you, you give me inspiration to go on with my work. I can't wait for next week's episode until then Happy knitting hear from San Antonio Texas
Just a lovely episode, I'm am sitting here knitting with nutiden on the time piece cardigan, the unspun really forces you to slow down and enjoy the process and the fabric it makes is wonderful. Have a great weekend.
You are amazing Jana with ALL of your knitting accomplishments!! Selfishly, I was glad to see you hadn't already completed Clue 1 on the MKAL😂😂😊 I am going slow with it as my yarn choice is quite splitty and slippery on Stainless steel needles, so I switched back to wooden needles. I am using Cascade Heritage sock yarn. In hindsight I would've preferred a more rustic feeling yarn, oh well, this is my first shawl EVER! I am committed to finishing!! TYTYTY for sharing another podcast!! Hugs from Wisconsin🤗
How nice to have found you...hello from Canada 🇨🇦. I am waiting for some Nutiden, I think I will knit the Nostalgic Sweater Coat, but mid-thigh length instead of longer. I am knitting the MKAL while watching your podcast...2 more repeats to go, it's Tuesday afternoon, so I should be done tomorrow 😀
😅😅😅 I’m currently playing yarn chicken. Love that term. I’m assuming that’s when we can’t be sure we’re go8n* to have sufficient yarn to complete our project.
You have such a beautiful and gentle soul Jana, when I watch your podcasts I feel relaxed and grounded. You are so kind and so generous with letting us in in your private life. You have a great sense of humor too. Loving your podcasts :-) You are my absolute fave, hands down, and in a good company with "The Knitting man" in UK and "Vlnene sestry" in CZE. I so much prefer real, genuine interactions with genuine, real people over lighting perfect, over styled, hyper polished vlogs of so many others. I am quite close to you :-) Living in Helsinki, a born and raised Eastern European myself, a mom to a special need teenage kid ( a boy) as well. When I am watching you, I am getting inspired and charged because your positivity and humor ( so important in daily life when facing challenges and demons), are shining trough:-) All the blessings to you, your small business and your whole family. Thank you!
That Ranunculus is beautiful! I have 300 g of a beautiful golden yellow colour of nutiden and I've been trying to decide what to make. Seeing your ranunuculus I think I need to turn the yarn into one myself 😍
Hi Janna. I love your podcast and am watching from the US. Stephen West has given me so much confidence as a knitter. I started with Shawlography, so much fun with new techniques. Can you tell wether Twist and Turns is going top-down or bottom-up? I just wonder because of the Clue 1 shape. It's fun to imagine. Enjoy your day!
Ohhhhh yes you made me smile ! Big big smile yes to FROG A LONG , I Am obviously in for the frog a long 😂hahaha I love Claire’s patterns 😊😊😊 there is a cute reel of the frog taking the train to London. Also another designer i tagged you for a French frog lol
Thank you for today. Our weather here in Northern USA is getting cooler. We are beginning to bundle up as well. Our 2 little pups are back in their coats too. I love that Ranunculus , it is really pretty. I as well adore that pattern. I have made 2 and want another cozy type to knit. My MKAL 22 is behind so I did fast forward , pattern takes me some time as the pups keep interrupting me….ugh. Thank you for today!
Love your podcasts Jana. It’s so lovely to sit with my knitting and a coffee with you. Thank you for making these videos. And for the great tips on designs and books. I have my copy now of salt & timber and I love it. And the little snippet of your family walking in the countryside is just beautiful. It’s so interesting to see your lovely country and learn about Finland. With thanks 🙏 from Australia 🇦🇺🦘
always great to see you . Leggings ... I'm in . The MKAL is a Knitters Christmas with all the excitement . So great to see everyones progress . I am just back for holiday and took my handspun to start .... very optimistic . However it is slightly too thick so had to go yarn shopping , good excuse :) . I love your colour choice . A frog along .... I was thinking all the projects I need to rip out .... I have the wrong idea !!.
Stephen’s mkal is again so much fun, I have now knitted 6 repeats of clue 1. Love your sweater with the Nutiden yarn. I am knitting a sweater with Manchelopis of Wooldreamers, also a nun spun yarn.
I wasn't planning on attempting this MKAL, but after watching cact on party I am trying it. I went stash diving. And here I am. I think I made a mistake bur I am going forward. No one I know will notice.
My goodness another podcast. The Garter Marler is finished. We would in days gone by knit the button bands vertically with a great finish. Ah the Renunculous sweater I will say no more. The twists snd Turns seems to be quite challenging. Lovely book you have acquired
Thoroughly enjoyed this, as always! Thankfully the project I am knitting on reached a bit of mindless moss stitch so I didn't even need to pay attention. Thank you for being a lovely, relaxing addition to my Sunday!
I loved this episode! Just like I have loved all the other episodes (especially the one where you showed us all your WIPs :D) ❤️ See you in Jyväskylä! Greetings from Kuopio 😍
Lovely to sit with you a while this Sunday morning, Jana. You're always inspirational, and so lovely to listen to. Thank you for recommending the Knitting with Cat Hair podcast - I have dipped into it and she is very, very good, so I am looking forward to watching more. You're the tops though!
I was working on my MKAL shawl while watching your video! This is my first year doing the MKAL and its crazy! What an imagination Stephen West has! I'm so excited for what comes next!
What a lovely shade of pink in that nutiden yarn! I knitted one sweater in plötulopi+mohair but I didn't like the result so I'm not really getting the exitement of unspun yarn atm.
This episode has an add break right when you were showing the close knit book. Not sure if you started doing ads or not. Ps, thanks for showing your moomin mug. I love them so.
Jana I love you so much and I miss your episodes this month wonder how you’re doing hope you’re well so I’m watching this one over again and I totally would love to join you in knitting woolly pants you’re so adorable all right sending my love hope you’re well
Hi Jana love your channel I love watching you knit could you show on one episode how to knit the way you knit it looks so fast thank you From Western Australia
Thanks for another great episode, as always. I'm so excited about Andrea Mowry's new cardigan, and glad you are too! I'm the person who asked about using Rauma Finullgarn for sweaters during the cast-on party: I will probably use this yarn for the body-if I can decide on a color! So glad you're doing better this week.
Thank you for joining the cast-on party! ❤️ Yes, Finullgarn would be perfect for the body of that cardigan and then you can use something softer for the collar. 😊
We don't carry much of plastic buttons (mostly wood and coconut) and I just needed one large pink plastic button. 😊 Plus the local yarn shop lady is a true gem, I love visiting her. Haven't been there in several months and looking for the perfect button is a good reason to visit. 😊
I just love your enthusiasm for knitting. I am working my way back to my original yarncraft and your videos are inspiring. I fear having multiple COs, but it doesn't really hurt...right? I never considered doing a Stephen West shawl, but this one may be the one that inspires me to dive right in. Thank you for all you do, Jana. ❤Love your outdoor videos and pictures too. 🍁🍂
Lovely Jana, your podcast is such a pleasure and an inspiration. That Ranunculus is gorgeous and I am tempted to join the Stephen West train. Be well 💕
I hope you enjoyed your extra hour of knitting. The cast on chat was so much fun!!! I always love to see a new podcast from you. Take care, stay healthy and keep knitting.
Yay, an appearance from a Moomin mug - a pre vlogmas treat for us? My Moomin bag made an appearance today to carry the all important cake back home from a street festival.
Heheee! I'm really looking forward to vlogmas this year. 🌲 Moomin mugs are everyday thing here. They are too pretty to be hidden in the closet and I use them for my daily cup of coffee. 😊
