The first one is from a movie, Love Story (1970), the original singer was Francis Lai. The Finnish lyrics were written by Fredi himself.

You said that the Finnish lyrics seemed different to the Finnish you tried to learn before. It might be because the lyrics were in spoken finnish, which can look and sound very different from formal written finnish. No one usually speaks written finnish in Finland and there's many ways to speak and write spoken finnish, because it differs so much depending on the area where the speaker is from.

Ellinoora has recorded a Finnish cover version of Dolly Parton's song Jolene. I love the original, but Ellinoora's version is also really good!

Ellinoora's song is about empowerment and not caring about what other people think of you. The chorus translates roughly to: we're singing louder when we're supposed to be quiet. We don't press our chin to our chest until we're pushing up daisies. We'll lift our beers in celebration. Someone being a child today will be the king of lions tomorrow.
