According to the breed definition, the Finnish Spitz should be a lively, brave, energetic and unyielding hunting dog. Despite its strong hunting qualities, the Finnish Spitz does well as a companion dog and in a family with children. The Suomenpystykorva is a very adaptable, cheerful and easy-to-care-for dog breed and makes an active companion for the most varied hobbies. A primitive dog by nature, like other Nordic hunting upright ears, it requires some investment in socialization, but with a little effort you can get a pet that openly relates to its environment, other dogs and people. Explosive speed and coordination skills are useful on agility fields, but as a self-respecting breed, training it requires a good relationship between the trainer and the dog. You have to remember that the Finnish Spitz is cautious and suspicious of strangers at first. The race is called: Dog of one owner. In the family, it takes one person whom it obeys the most. Good-natured and protective of children. Fearlessness belongs to the breed. A dog gives its life for the one it protects. From experience and having owned 2 such, I do not recommend it as the first dog for an urban area. But for a rural area and a person who has time to train a dog, this breed is a great companion.

We found our girl 3 years ago November in the woods 7 Two 9 weeks old, Is born in the wild. Really protective Of my wife, And really one of the best dogs I've ever had. Yes Maxie's a good girl

I got my first dog, a finnish spitz from a breeder that was also my co-worker. I was definitely not ready for this kind of dog so i agree with everything said on the video. Thankfully I live out in the country and took the time to work with him with lots of trials and errors. Now hes just the most best perfect dog.

Now I miss my dog Harry, he was a mix of Finnish Spitz and Northern Spitz. He was the friendliest dog in the world! He died when I was 14 I think. He lived until he was 15 in human years

Years ago, I saw a golden spitz-type dog wandering in downtown Houston with no collar. I opened the car door, called to her, and she jumped in! The dog turned out to be a Finnish Spitz. With no chip and no response to our “found dog” notices, she needed rehoming. She was one of the smartest, most alert dogs I’ve ever met. I tried to find a way to keep her, but it wouldn’t have worked. She strongly dominated our terrier, whose position as head of our dog pack was an important part of her personality. Luckily, a Finnish Spritz breeder in Texas helped us rehome her with a couple in Chicago that already owned 2 Finnish Spitzes. Her vocalizations upon meeting the breeder’s dogs were weird, almost like a singing dog. Does anyone know what I’m talking about?

The reason why i watch the video because i found one on the street,now i understand why i easily approach him when i saw him alone in the highway his so exhausted thirstt and hungry . Thank God he found a new home with me.

they were breed as bird hunting dogs , my grandma had one , loved it as a kid but she barked a lot it all depends on traing as well ,

I got my finkie from a friend who had too many dog's and had get rid of one so I took her in and I love her so much.she is very smart and a clown she takes a treat like a biscuit and will pounce on it .I have never seen that out of any of my other dog's in 46 years of life she even has favorite music she has to listen to Frank Sinatra before bed or she will keep you up all night but I love her so much so that matters

Talk to Leslie at Finnish Spitz National Rescue or the National Breed Club - FSCA. But also, don't depend solely on this channels"evaluations". This breed is fantastic but make sure you are a good match for them.

In the video it said that the hot temperature adabtability is 5 so it would survive im pretty sure but would recommend keeping it as cool as possible. Just a speculation tho. As for can you get one in India, im not sure.

They are a cold weather dog. They don't like heat. They can adapt somewhat, but if you are thinking of leaving your dog outside all day in the Indian heat don't get a Finnish Spitz.

We are in California where it gets pretty warm in the summer. The heat makes him a little tired. He loves the cool winter weather. But he is always delightful!

@@jeffmurray1681 Finnish Spitz that I've had, both loved the sauna. Every time I heated the sauna, a commotion started if they couldn't join me there. First shower and get the fur wet, then they always went to the hottest corner where they stayed for 5-10 minutes. Then we went outside for a little run and in the same pattern back to the sauna.
