I’m so happy your fur baby was cured from FIP❤ My fur baby Samson passed from FIP. I did start injectable treatment however, after 4 days on treatment he still passed. I’ve heard so many success stories, which brings joy to my heart. I’m so happy the treatment is working for so many other fur babies ❤ I’m also saddened it didn’t work for my Samson. Thanks for sharing this information. I’m sorry for the loss of your one cat, but I’m glad you didn’t have to go through the loss a second time. We lost our 10 year old Siberian Forest cat, Anastasia, to FIP last month because we didn’t know what was wrong with her and how to help. It pains us that not a single vet (out of 5) tested her for it over the past two years, despite all of the appointments, blood work, x-rays, ultrasounds, and medications. Our family vet thought it was pancreatitis (he now agrees it was FIP) and another thought it was cancer. We miss her terribly and are even more heartbroken to learn this information after we had to say goodbye to Ana. We’d have done anything to help her pull through it and spend more time with us. It’s the hardest thing I’ve gone through in 50 years. She meant the world to my wife and I.

What a beautiful girl Amara! I'm so glad she's better. We're on Day 9 of injections, and you're right, it's completely emotionally exhausting. I look forward to my girl (Cookie) being completely cured, I'm trying to remain realistic but hopeful.

I've had several cats die of FIP. A few of my cats and a LOT of strays. I think the strays brought it in and they infected my cats. I didn't even know what was killing the cats, I just know that cats were dropping like flies. Some of them kittens. I tried taking some to the vet (even strays) and I was informed what it was & was told it was deadly and there is No cure. My only option given was to put the cats to sleep. This was devastating to me. Since then more cats have died and I do my best to try to combat it by cleaning inside & outside with bleach spray & constantly washing or replacing food & water bowls (multiple times a day). If I saw a cat laying somewhere that I suspected had the disease, I would try to clean wherever it laid with bleach spray. I DON'T have much money & what little I had was spent buying cat food & taking as many cats (even strays) to the vet as I could. Eventually the money ran out and I had to watch many cats suffer & die because I couldn't even afford to put them to sleep. I tried begging for whatever money I could from friends & relatives, but they have ZERO compassion. I won't even repeat some of the things they recommended, which were ALL cruel. And most of them are extremely well off, so they can help, they just don't want to. I can't force them but it puts me & the cats in a spot. There has been a lull in the deaths, but the Vet assures me that they disease (FIP) can linger in their system for up to a year before its activated. I want to help these cats but there is no official cure, just some experimental treatment that is NOT guaranteed to work (usually doesn't) and the treatment can also prove fatal. And its expensive. Will look into this to see if I can use it to save my cats & the strays around me. My neighbors HATE me for trying to care for the strays. They think I should either let them starve & die or capture them and drive them to the country and drop them off on the side of the road to fend for themselves. I HATE people like this. These are GOD's creatures and to neglect them is to neglect GOD. That is what I believe anyway.

On day 3 of shots and she takes 6 other medications everyday to provide her supportive care. The hardest part of this journey is not being able to talk to other cat parents going through the same thing to have some emotional support 😔
