Note: These are not my actual thoughts on these alarms. This is just a depiction of how people behave when technology changes and when new designs come out.
So for context, basically fire alarm enthusiasts complain about new stuff. Most recently fire alarms with LED strobes have been coming out and people whine about its design. Going back in time, fire alarms used to have what we call frosted strobes. Basically, it uses a translucent white plastic. In the 1990's, fire alarm with clear strobes were rolling out due to ADA requirements. This means changing the design of the strobes and adding in reflectors to further brighten the strobes. This video depicts a fire alarm enthusiast from the 1990's reacting to and complaining about clear strobe alarms.
Very clever lol, the Technician side of me understands that the new alarms will do the job (despite a lack in quality), but the collector side of me hates a lot of the new modern horn strobes. some are super over used and boring, and the older you go the better it gets for me! This vid def. gives a good perspective of back then when the alarms we know and love and consider vintage today were new. Great job lol
