Slug disco has overdone themselves, this level is just impressive. All of the new ideas, ants, creatures are brilliant. I don't know how they could make a more impressive level in the future.

I just hope the overhaul to freeplay adds the Titan class foes, a swamp level, better ai please, and the newer aphids, personally adore the new aphids and kinda hated the old ones, not a fan of time limits really.

I'm not convinced on the titans being in freeplay, I would love to see it but it sort of becomes a titan mission then rather than freeplay, the rest though I would expect to see

@@ManOfTheAntz well in all fairness, the titans are no different than uber creatures. Both demand what can only be generously described as a **** ton of ants, yes, I censored myself as a joke. But Titans also don't do much outside of be a big hazard in a general area. Same with ubers. I think it could be very well done as long as its like, "The Titan is only a problem every so often" like the Dragonfly in 4.2 isn't a problem till the game basically tells you its now or never. The bullfrog however.....now that can be tricky off of sheer size alone. But this is Slug Disco we're talking about here, have they ever truly let us down? They always give it their all.

Failure #2: 350+ level 3 fire ants. 50+ workers. Killing the bullfrog is easy its what happens afterwards that appears to be a bit of a puzzle.

With the fire ants, its always better to upgrade to level 3 because you get stronger ants, and double the amount then you normally would.

This level was a little hard, all of the enemies are a little tough, are poor in nutrients and most of the food are underground. The aphids are your lifeline in this level, you have to get and protect as many as you can get, even from your neighbors. A herd of at least 40 will provide you all the food you need.

OK, so I came to check your video to see how you made out with it after my failure. Interestingly, I killed the main toad in my first attempt by attacking him with 2 groups of 35+ level 3 ants and over 1800 food in storage. He didn't last long. What came afterwards was no fun at all and resulted in a failed mission! If your surprised, imagine my reaction when I thought I won the mission.

Yeah that twist caught me off guard too. While I was frustrated that I got defeated, I thought the twist was cool and it felt more satisfying when I was able to survive and finish the level.

Small attention to detail that I appreciate is that the bullfrog is actually a female bullfrog!! Very subtle difference in the eye size vs the tympanum size (the round patch where their ear would go) males have a tympanum like three times the size of their eye whereas females have one much closer to their eye size

I made it through the new update playing on medium. I can barely get a foothold on hard lol good luck when you attempt it. The next level is totally different than this one, it's great. It's no wonder it took Slug Disco so long to develop it.

the problem for you is you ignore the pine cone which boost you up with 600+ food and small food store is a hint to help you but welp since is your 1st attempt is just understandable

I wouldn't say your efforts in storing food and expansion was pointless. For every bit of food you've collected, every territory point you've used/have left over and the food invested in tiles, you get more jelly. I believe the multiplier for food is 0.0125

Finally managed to get to play it today. after watching ur vids.. So glad i tried it on medium as i was not prepared for what happened after i killed the bullfrog! Love watching ur vids as always :) gonna try to do this level on hard and insane before attempting the next one. Keep up the great work and cant wait for HUNGRY SPIDER ;)

41:35 No lol you're as bad as I was when I started this level. I honestly think no player could have survived this level on first try (with zero prior knowledge). This level really gives you the sort of panic on first try and it'd take a number of retries before you get used to it and be confident about things.

Pervasive is stronger than vigorous it will help you be more dangerous with your food meaning more ants more ants means more food needed but for pervasive they are free more numbers means more power more power means easier missions

Concerning the ".1" and ".2" levels, I just see the first one as "surviving as an ant colony" and the last one as "going to war as an ant colony" from observations. Concerning the fire ant level 4.1, I attempted it 4 times (with 2 attempts per soldier type) in a row, failed all them, and I hate amphibians now. So best of luck!

You didnt have food because you didnt take the food at the botom of the nest underground there is so much there a was able to make 70 ants before going outside for aphids
