Great video but dude use your glove lol. Be an example for the new kids on the trade. 😂 I know years of experience we don’t care lol but they newbies don’t know. Imagine a new kid trying to weld with no gloves? He probably quit the first day. 🤣🤣🤣 but great video dude. 🤙🏽
Hi Allen, I love watching your videos! I’m going to build an offset smoker from a 200 lb. propane tank (about a 52 gal. tank). Is this fire box about the right size for my tank? About a 16 inch square box? Thanks for all your videos!
i only watched 2 minutes of this and can already tell you have better fabricating skills than most pit builders selling there crappy built poorly finished so called professionally built smokers for thousands to people who don,t know the difference. keep up the good work
Another awesome video! Very much appreciate you breaking it down like that and showing all the steps. Make that torch work look easy, too, but we all know it takes a bunch of skill to knock out some cuts like that.
Steven I have a shop 20x40 I am just like Allen here we build trailers and campers we go outside of our shop and work in the rain I can not tell you why we do this it could be the man in us
Allen, love your videos. You are an absolute artist of the highest caliber. I like to weld and build stuff in my shop. I wanted to ask what settings you have your oxygen, and acetylene on for your cutting applications, as you make it look effortless. I pretty much work with the same thickness of steel plate as you, and do own a plasma cutter, but nothing like cutting with a torch in my opinion. I would say mostly what I use is 3/8- 1/4 inch plate. any assistance is greatly appreciated.
Great video I’ve welded a few things for personal use my next project I want to make is a small pizza oven but with a propane burner and a pod control ❤
Stumbled upon your double barrel BBQ video today, and I think this makes around 4 of your videos, that I've watched today. I liked and subscribed, all great ideas, but knowing I can't afford to buy and ship to Canada. I think I can piece something together, to build a BBQ and a smoker for family get togethers. Turning 50 next month, I would really like to throw a family party. Have the basic tools, and some of your design ideas, well kind of.
I'm trying to build a hot box for my 250 gallon propane tank smoker. what thickness of steel would you recommend, and can I weld to peaces together to make on side if needed?
Is this 1/4 inch and also do you weld inside of the box where you make the bend after you ground out some of the material? Thx. I’m gonna try building a firebox soon and this video was super helpful.
I love your style, both of your fabrication and your videos. I'm learning a lot as I go through them. In particular I appreciate seeing your various techniques for getting smooth lines with your torch, and how much you're doing without a metal brake, plasma cutter, etc. My kind of resourcefulness. I know my brother has a scrap piece of C-channel like you use for your bends. I think I'll have to see if he wants me to store it for him. :)
I'm recovering from surgery to prepare for the next and I'm binge watching your old videos and loving it. Can't wait to get dirty. The firebox looks great, the extra vents are a good idea, they are easy enough to build in now compared to adding later after its completely assembled and used.
I love your work!!! Just a suggestion when you are talking to the camera and holding it maybe you could weld up a tripod and use it so your shots are a bit more steady. Keep up the videos. Great stuff!!!
I'm bout ready too spend some $$ with you man! I can't say enough how much I appreciate your work, the quality, the design and the fact that you are a 1 man crew. I have no doubt that having you build a pit for me would be an honor, because I know it'll be done with care, quality and precision.
