It's usually excruciating seeing how long it takes for volunteer fire companies to get their rigs out of the barn and on the road. These guys are on the ball!❤
when I here that if I'm a firefighter in that location I would be hot on my toes running to the truck and jumping in as fast as possible without harming myself just like I did while working at a daycare going from child to child.
how come its attemping to do alternate wail/hi lo attack instead of attempting to do normal hi lo? edit: or do they use hi lo for a tornado around there?
@@RockProductionsYT what is alternate wail for? some places use hi lo for a tornado but most of the time hi lo is called the fire call what is alt wail for?
That's the normal 2-minute Undulating High Low fire signal that came from Federal Signal (on the AF timers) for the fire dept's there is an extra cam in the AF timer for it to produce this signal. Without the extra fire cam in there it would just do steady High Low for 3 minutes. How alternate wail is done is with that extra fire cam in the AF timer and an agastat time delay relay in the RC6 (3T22) / RCM3 (Thunderbolt 1003) so when the AF timer contact opens the agastat waits for 8 seconds before turning off the solenoids but if the AF timer closes the contact again it doesn't shut off but when 2 minutes is up and the timer opens the contact the agastat waits until 8 seconds (or how much you set it for) and turns off. That is to my understanding how it works. I hope I was able to answer your questions.
@@FirefighterKWann Just because you haven't had any complaints, doesn't make it ok. As responsible, courteous members of your community, there is no reason, in 2021, for ANY fire siren to run that long. Why it's still used at all is another issue. With the VERY affordable option of purchasing quality, reliable used voice radio pagers (eBay always lists plenty), every member should be able to receive call notifications with no need for the use of an antiquated, obnoxious form of notification. Using it as a backup or in conjunction with the pagers still only requires 3-5 cycles max, not 3.5 minutes. ANY respectable, responsible and courteous department would have already taken steps to, at the very least, reduce their use of such outdated, disruptive devices and most would either completely remove or only use as a backup, last resort. The fact that you replied with this response would suggest your department thinks and does otherwise.
I couldn't agree more , the use of that siren is over the top God help the poor people that live close by. Get with the times and update to pagers or cell-phone and don't give us the bs story about not getting good coverage they have worked well for over 40 years and if not then it's normally an easy fix.
Do you get a feeling of your pager going off in the middle of the night and suddenly it wakes you up well one time my friend woke up in the middle of the night because he had a fire call I felt bad for him
@@IllisconsinSirens No, then it would continue doing hi lo on wind down and windup. This signal is called undulating High Low fire signal according to the thunderbolt manual.
@@SirensandThunderbolts1003 I thought the thunder bolt sirens spin around in a circle when it's going off. I know a station that has one, it's yellow in color and has civel defense on it.
The 3T22 Its In Pulse Instead Of Hi Lo Its The Lower Part Of The Damper And Nice Vid Subscribe & Like Notifacations And Very Good Response Of The Firemen They Ben Trained If They Heard The Siren They Would Had To Put There Suit Quickly
Wrong this 3t22 has four different tones hi lo, alternate wail, attack and alert in this video they are using hi lo for a fire in the area the damper does sound like it's clogged or needs to be replaced.
Damn. Hearing that siren going off made me expect a nuclear attack or a tornado. Creepy sound. Interesting tanker as well. Don't see ot of double cab single axle tankers. I'm guessing it holds 2,000 gallons? Great video though.
We have a siren like that but it wrks the right way its a screamer when it goes off 3 phaze wireing 25 hp and we had to get a demand meter for the power box we dont have it set to hi low
The siren is not there to be an annoying sound to people at 2:30 in the morning, it’s there to alert the town and Firefighters there’s a call going out, and I can assure you if anyone complains about the house siren in your area if you have one, you wouldn’t complain if it was your house on fire, or loved one in trouble.
I would think in today's modern time's pagers or cell phone alerts are the way to go not waking the whole community just to let them know that there is a call, the police, ambulance etc don't.
